As we speak, Jericho is texting Hunter YouTube links of Cheeseburger. I'm very optimistic about this concept. <HHH> I WANNA SQUASH HIM.

I wish this was a thing in the mid 90's... back when we had the Super J Cup, and the big BOSJ tournaments and all these great colorful cruiserweights...
Might be ignorance, but I'm not that excited about it, because, just like Corbin, I don't know these people.
I'd like to see some nostalgia acts in it. Lyger, Dragon, Sasuke, Delfin, TAKA, Psicosis, La Parka, Juventud...

I read in Ring of Hell (so take it with a grain of salt) that supposedly the cruiser weights wanted to do something similar to the Super J Cup and Best of The Super Juniors in WCW. The idea was to have Dean Malenko book it, but Bischoff shot it down. Could've been great when you consider how deep that roster was at the time and Konnan could have brought in more Luchadors if need be, plus the talent exchange they had with New Japan. We all joke about TJ Wilson and his stack of Puroresu tapes, but put him on commentary for the tournament. He would probably know a lot of the participants as both a fan and a peer. While we're at it, where's Mike Tenay? As bad as he was in TNA, if he came in and turned his voice down a couple of decibels and go back to being "the professor", he could really shine in that position.

Triple H is Eric Bischoff meets Paul Heyman right now. Putting on a great product with someone else's money and cultivating a revolutionary kool-aid drinking loyalty around it.

They should make a huge Stanley Cup-type trophy for the winner. I actually like this idea better than a new title. I'm hoping WWE actually collaborates with some other feds, including from Japan, Mexico, and various American indies; WCW was never shy about doing that.

I demand at least one Chikara wrestler, WITH Gimmick. Honestly I think that is why Quack is there. I bet they're using him as a scout and agent for this, in exchange for them using some Chikara talent and a bit of focus on the promotion. Did I miss something? Has Quack been in contact with the E?

so, will the cruiserweight belt be reintroduced at the end? Since it's the Global Cruiserweight Series, the GWF Lightweight Title belt would be more appropriate.

I demand at least one Chikara wrestler, WITH Gimmick. Why have one when we can have four? Also, isn't the limit at Cruiserweight 220 lbs., and not 205?

Also, isn't the limit at Cruiserweight 220 lbs., and not 205? 220 in WCW/Japan and 225 in WWE according to Wiki but most of the WWE roster would be close to, if not at, that limit nowadays.

For the purpose of this show, they've set it at 205. Fine enough for Ophidian and Jervis Cottonbelly, not so much for Hallowicked and Dasher Hatfield.
