For his sake, I hope he got a round-trip ticket.

So now that it's official, we can talk about it as a fact, he's coming in and will be there past Takeover.
I think he will thrive in NXT and crash as soon as he comes to the main roster, at no fault of his own.
I don't think Vince knows what to do with somebody like Nakamura. I don't expect Vince to "get" him and frankly I expect the average WWE fan to be sort of puzzled, too.

Yeah....I'm gonna go that way too.

I'm not familiar with NJPW so I just hope he can speak English because WWE doesn't have the best track record with Japanese performers.
As hilarious as it would be in a maddening sort of way, I'd hate to see a guy take such a huge risk to become like Kenzo Suzuki or Kai En Tai.

I am a 26 years old and I just realized I can reach a level of excitement where I squeak like a whoopee-cushion's last breath.
So, YEOH.

I don't think it's a coincidence that stuff like Nakamura's signing is happening now. People want to deny it, but I really believe there is a change in culture that has happened with NXT's rise, and these high profile signings.
I mean Vince is still the be all, end all and probably will be until he dies. However, look at the top of the card. Aside from the made men in Cena and Reigns, and the part-timers in Lesnar, HHH and 'Taker, who are WWE's biggest stars right now? Guys who succeeded internationally or on the independents. It's going to to come to a point where Hunter is going to say, "Okay Vince, Cena and Reigns are hurt. You need to pick someone who is going to carry the torch right now." And the hypothetical list he will be giving Vince will be filled with names like Ambrose, Owens, Rollins, Cesaro, Neville, Zayn, Nakamura, etc.
Vince will always be stubborn, he will always put a premium on larger than life looks, but he will always also be a business man. He may have dragged his feet way too long with Bryan, but at the end of the day, he gave fans a moment with WMXXX that will live on forever. He will always be dragged kicking and screaming to any idea that is not his own. However, when he sees the Takeover reception for Nakamura, which I suspect will just be about the loudest one NXT has seen, it may just finally click that the WWE is growing around him, and not because of him.

Nakamura's spoken english is decent enough, going by the video. He can have a functional conversation.
But there's a chasm between that and cutting a promo, especially his promo, he needs to emote a lot and say things a certain way, and that MAY get lost in the accent...

Well, he has the same gear and the same mannerisms in his first WWE footage. So far, so good. Has there been any update to him bringing his "Subconscious" theme with him? I seriously could not picture him coming out to any other song ever.

Kota Ibushi just left NJPW too. WWE loading up on Japanese workers?? If that's the case, I guess nothing else really holds back Kenny Omega with New Japan until the end of his current contract. I read in an interview this week that the reason he turned down WWE 3 times last year was so he could still work with Kota Ibushi in New Japan. Gonna be interesting to see what unfolds next once Omega's contract with New Japan runs out.

Finn, Crews, Asuka, Bayley, Banks and whatnot all have tremendous, character-oriented tunes. Assuming they're all the same lads, of course.

Nakamura meeting Vince in front of a giant skeleton head of a T-Rex is one of those "that happened" moments.

Unless he has been terrible with his money, he probably has a lot in the bank from NJPW, and had done pretty much anything he could do there. I could see him having at worst a run like Hakushi, where he has some prominent matches and then leaves after a little while.
