I honestly really like him. The gimmick has potential if they use the right segments, he has a really good look, his theme music is amazing (I've wanted a clear version since TakeOver: London. My god did it sound incredible live), and he seems good enough in the ring.

Sucks. Like many have said earlier, they need to show him walking/hitchhiking to shows to make his character more legit. I assume he'll get better with his character in time, but right now he's awful. That's why he's in NXT

He's all right. Find it fascinating how he's slowly building up Eva Marie-esque go away heat in NXT, though. Because white dudes with guitars are the most hateable things on this earth. co signed. I like his look, his entrance, and his vibe, but I need to see him in a longer match before I can comment on his in-ring work. And they definitely need to flesh out the character some more.
It's a good base that needs... something.

He's a fellow Pittsburgh guy, so I do want him to succeed, but there's something missing yet.
One thing he has shown though, is some malice in the ring. Not just moments of aggression, but a look of enjoying hurting someone.

I think a problem so far is him debuting in squash matches. Being a badass who beats up jobbers doesn't seem like it informs his character at all. With a character like that, there should be promos or a conflict right away, otherwise it's going to tread water and start it off on a boring note. The only way I can see it as a positive is if it's intentionally done to lull people into boredom, then proceed to do something shocking.

Plus, white guy with acoustic guitar is basically the embodiment of a douchebag. Graves hates on him, but he's displayed Heenan-esque tendencies of hating some people no matter their alignment in the past. |

I love how Corey knows that a supposed bohemian hipster from Pittsburgh is fake, because Corey is Pittsburgh's supreme hipster.  That is a face of suffering. Someone needs to help Corey Graves. |
