Thoughts on Elias Sampson.

So. The Drifter. He's alright in the ring, his character's neat in theory, he looks like Dirty Rafi/Sandow/Rollins, and his music is f***ing awesome:



But I feel like they could be doing so much more with him rather than just having him squash jobbers. Actually show him drifting, have Sampson show up outside house-shows and shit playing guitar, then show the footage on NXT. Just have him do...something!

Why not show him traveling to house shows by train or something like show him in a boxcar and singing while traveling or something since he is supposed to be a drifter

They're obviously fleshing out his character slowly, but in general I don't get behind gimmicks that involve music or instruments. With that said, he's looked good so far in his squash matches. His move set isn't anything special, but he executes what moves he does do excellently.

I like his gimmick, but he's missing something. He's just another guy in the mix and doesn't have anything that makes him stand out. Plus his matches are generally boring and he has no direction or purpose right now.
Also he loses some points for having a guitar without but not smashing it over his opponents heads all the time.

He reminds me more of Macho Man than anyone, especially with his take on the flying elbow drop. I wonder if he's Macho's illegitimate son?

The whole drifter thing for some reason makes me think of something from Courage the Cowardly Dog. Like he is from No Where.

Exactly! Show him Drifting! Hell, you could even make it into a pseudo "viral" thing, have him disappear for a few weeks, have "fan cams" of him hitchhiking, people videoing him walking along highways with his guitar, threatening the people videoing him and stuff.

Oh, and Talent Name, you suck. Because now every time I see him, I'll think "OOH YEAH, FEEL THE SADNESS, YEAH!"

The guy seems alright and improving each time, I love the gimmick and vibe they are going for and the theme is excellent, however something just isn't clicking yet. I am hoping he'll get the time to figure it out.
