"Twilight's Kingdom Part 2": This is perhaps the best season finale that they have done. Tirek is THE villain of the show to me, cruel, having an interesting m.o. and is perhaps the only one I would be really pissed off if he ever gets redeemed. The conflict of Twilight being unsure what her role as princess entails was done wonderfully. Discord's betrayal is understandable in a way considering in previous episodes, the mane cast have not exactly treated him well, and his quick forgiveness I can buy considering he was a catalyst in making everything alright. It was interesting to see that it is possible for an alicorn to rid herself of their magic and Twilight's fight with Tirek was awesome to behold. The rainbow power forms of the ponies were mostly good except for one or two and Twilight's castle is now acceptable to me (although the destruction of her home for four seasons was shocking to see). Perhaps most important to me was how this episode put over the importance of the other mane cast members. They mean the world to Twilight, she could not have done this on her own, they each played a part, they make up the council of friendship and perhaps the most important sentence in this show: "What would the princess of friendship be without her friends?" Seriously, they could not have put over their importance more, so all that "Princess Twilight and her serfs" stuff turned out to be a bunch of hooey. A.  The TLML Adventures Part 62After their sleep, the four friends still felt weak but they decided on one thing: bringing Lyra back home to Ponyville to Bon Bon before they themselves returned to Canterlot. The long train journey home went slower than usual due to all ponies having their magic extracted, but they finally arrived at Ponyville and hauled themselves to Bon Bon's house. Bon Bon tearfully embraced Lyra who hugged her tearfully in return. Seeing how scared they were, Twinkleshine, Lemon Hearts and Minuette decided to not leave their friends in their time of need and hugged them as well while they heard explosions in the distance. Suddenly, a rainbow appeared in the sky and suddenly their magic and Bon Bon's earth pony powers reappeared. A while after that, a crystal castle appeared in Ponyville out of nowhere. Out of curiosity, the four friends went to check it out...     Glad that the whole ordeal was over, the Canterlot Three bid farewell to Bon Bon and Lyra and returned home to Canterlot to check on their families. Hopefully that was the last emergency in Equestria for a while. |
