Hell, I remember when they closed with a lead in to the newest episode of Silk Stalkings. I wonder how those did in the ratings cause I remember raw would end and the next thing you saw was Boobs Glorious Boobs. As a kid, I was always highly intrigued by the opening bits of Silk Stalkings. Then the theme music would hit, and for some reason those moody "wolf howl" parts terrified me to my very soul. The Scared Boner. Always an interesting experience. |

The Cole today is still the same Cole who cut from the Big Bossman being hanged from HIAC in the middle of the ring at WM15 to the script hyping the main event with a brief pause between his cries of murder and normal segue to a video clip.
I'd take Attitude Era JR any day.

He was also in an environment where he was allowed to make every person on the roster sound very impressive when they were in the ring, even if they were low card guys. Unfortunately for Cole, he's in an era where there are main eventers and then there are geeks.

We like to look back and think that everything was better in the past. While that doesn't hold true for everything, I feel that it does for the commentary. I remember Ross and Schiavone ending the shows and not wanting to wait a WHOLE week to see what happened next. And my god...if there was a PPV as the next show, you know damn well I was begging my parents to buy it based off of the closing minutes.
This is why Mauro is so great. I get the feels when listening to him because he reminds me so much of what used to be.
