I've completely soured on the guy and I'm not quite sure why...
Maybe it's the constant losing to bigger stars, the horrid match with Jericho, the cheesy storylines he's always given. His matches seem slow and off and I struggle to get excited to see any of them; I know I'm going to see an average match, he'll do a whacky line - a f***ing whacky line - no sell, win or lose, and none of it will matter.
What do you think?

Ambrose went from cool crazy, to over the top nuts with wacky elements, to now just being a full blown cartoon character. The situational lack of selling in his matches just gets more grating, and its become increasingly clear the company doesn't see him as a top guy. So with a character evolution in the wrong direction, lack of any genuinely interesting feuds since his stuff with Rollins, no likely advancement to come, and in ring flaws that no longer have a hot connection with the crowd or booking that makes it work; you have current Dean Ambrose. Now the "nutty" weapons wrestler who exists to lose to the people Roman will defeat and get token wins over people like Jericho to make him still seem like a big deal.

I was just thinking that last year I was cool with him winning the WWE title at MITB - he didn't - and I'm over him this year when he's likely to win MITB. They waited too long. Didn't help that he lost all his feuds, minus the Jericho one, along the way.

He's too goofy to take seriously.

I don't really dislike him, but his character has gone completely overboard and his matches have become a chore to sit through.

He's too goofy to take seriously. Yep. He might as well be teaming with Goldust and R-Truth.

Just a case of creative not giving him anything worthwhile. He had that great program with KO at the beginning of the year, and an awesome match with Triple H at Roadblock. All of that was squandered with how mishandled the Brock program was. It had the potential to elevate Ambrose but they butchered the execution worse than I thought they could. I feel like he still hasn't recovered, and treading water with Jericho since hasn't helped matters in the slightest.

Ambrose post-Shield was First Blood.
Ambrose post-Rollins feud to now is Rambo III.

I still like the dude. I mean he could be booked better, no doubt, but the same could be said for most of the WWE roster.

He could be booked better. WWE can shift the character in a moments notice. His character has versatility so he can be that crazy/psycho type of character or he can be over the top cartoony like whats happening now.

He's not Ambrose anymore. He's just some guy that fires off a one liner here and there while we're told how crazy he is.

They've turned the dude in a comedy character. Not a fan.

Ambrose post-Shield was First Blood. Ambrose post-Rollins feud to now is Rambo III. Accurate comparison.

Ambrose of late has been given almost nothing to work with. The Lesnar thing was a mismatch that did him no favors and the Jericho feud is, well, a Jericho feud (meaning not good by definition these days). We've seen with the Owens feud and the HHH match that Ambrose can have great matches but he needs to be in there with the right opponents.
I think the frustration has been his constant "Can't quite win the big one" moments. He's seemingly won the title so many times that fans have kind of given up on him. That and his character is constantly hyped as being crazy, which is the kiss of death in the long run. Austin may have acted crazy at times but he was more cool anti hero that outright nut. It reminds me of the way WCW portrayed Cactus Jack in the early 90s as this unhinged loony in need of a straight jacket. It works to a point but fails to make someone a top guy.

Remember how in his first book Foley talked about guys trying so damn hard to be crazy with wacky faces and doing weird things and how it's just lame? That's Ambrose.

Dean's my favourite Superstar in the WWE, however they have ruined him. Back in the indies and FCW, he was simply a deranged man with a strange childhood who loved to hurt his opponents and even got off pain sometimes. In The Shield, it was toned down a little but he still had serious shades of the insane man he is.... now? He's a goddamn Looney Tunes character. I want to blow my brains out every time JBL and Maggle scream down the headset that he's a LUNATIC FRINGE. That name doesn't even make sense anymore because the Shield broke up two years ago!
The match against Lesnar did not help at all, it damaged both Brock and Deano. It could have been a match to remember for years...
