"Newbie Dash"...gets an 8/10 from me. Although she is my least favorite mane sixer, I frankly admit...I felt happy for Dashie that she finally fulfilled her dream that she had been chasing ever since the very first episode of MLP. The uniform looks good on her and it just feels right to see her at the start of her new path in her life. It was also good to get a bit more inside into the daily routines of the Wonderbolts and how they train for their shows. That was definitely a nice touch to see. Now, on the main conflict of the episode: I am in the camp that felt that Dashie should have come forward to them as soon as she felt hurt by the nickname they gave her. From the interactions with the Wonderbolts it seemed clear to me that they were not calling her "Crash" in a mocking or insulting manner, but more in a camaraderie-joking manner. Of course it did not seem that way to Dash but it was never made clear why she did not come clean immediately to them instead of her crazy schemes like impersonating her friends or...whatever the buck that maneuver at the end was supposed to be (I need to rewatch it because I did not get what Dashie wanted to accomplish with that stormcloud). Then again, she is the mare that destroyed a whole weather factory just so her tortoise would not have to hibernate, so who knows what goes on in her head. And the Wonderbolts were not really obligated to tell her the reason for the nickname (IMHO as soon as Spitfire mentioned the nickname thing when they gave her her jacket should have been good enough). Last, the fact that this conflict could have been easily solved if Dashie said something hurts this episode a bit. Another spot on this episode is Pinkie Pie...from saying something insensitive without apologizing to "My best friend is doing her first routine as a Wonderbolt...but this cotton candy is more important, hurr-durr-durr", this was among her worst portrayals. The MLP writers should not wonder why she fell from 2 to 5 in my list due to characterizations like this. Otherwise, the episode was solid with good humor (Dashie's impersonations were hilarious and her final crash epic), a good pacing and a solid story. So, 8/10 it is. It was not a newbie phenomenon...that there was no TLML Adventure.

I'd say "special treatment", but I don't want to go through all of that again.

Yeah, we had enough discussion about that two months ago. Six seasons to reach this goal. Its a long time. But you earned it.

The first quarterfinal match will happen today!
Will Troubleshoes's Poland's lucky streak hold against Double Diamond's Portugal today?
Troubleshoes: "I have not been this happy since I fully grasped the true meaning of my cutie mark. Even if I lose today, I won't feel sad. I shall see if my luck will still hold."
Double Diamond: "We still have a bit of a downhill before us until we reach the goal. And Troubleshoes is a hurdle we must ski-jump over. I have no doubt that my team can do it."

Seriously, Dashie, didn't they teach you that lesson regarding "look before you cross" in kindergarten?
