He could have wrestled The Undertaker and move in with Bob Ryder after finishing up his WWE run.

Abyss thinking about the time he could have wrestled the Undertaker like: Abyss can't be pie facing himself. Not while that Ryder strudel is waving around.

I know it's not our place to judge someone's decisions, as I'm sure Abyss had his reasons, but my god, that has to be one of the worst business/career decisions ever made in wrestling. Even if he was loyal to TNA and wanted it to grow, he could have wrestled Taker, been jobbed out in the WWE, and just come back whenever he was available again. In a business like wrestling full of politics, and with guys who work hard never getting rewarded for it, for him to have that type of chance and squander it is amazing to me. Like, if I was working in finance for a small company and then Google offered me a promotion, and I said "nah, I'm good", I'd look like a damned fool, at the time and in hindsight.
Blew the chance to wrestle Taker, and 10 years later getting puked on by Rosemary. I'm sure Abyss is just fine. No regrets.

I the only one who doesn't find the rapist Bob Ryder jokes remotely funny? It comes off like a completely forced joke, not really helped by how it's constantly being shoehorned into everything lately.

Seems more mean spirited than any attempt at funny. Sorry guys. Anyway, of all the people to take job advice from James Storm went to Abyss. Guess it makes sense for his morphing into a bootleg X pac.

So, that explains why James Storm came back to TNA then.

Abyss didn't dodge dollars to pick up pennies. He dodged dollars to pick up shit.
Say whatever you want about Heidenreich, Snitsky, and Luther Reigns, but their earnings surpassed the ones from Abyss.
Also let's consider the fact that because of his loyalty to tna, Abyss lost his front teeth, suffered multiple concussions, suffered multiple scars on his body, and risked getting infected with hepatitis.

"he'd be a flavor of the month!" Kane was supposed to be a flavor of hte month and turned it into over a decade long career. Even if he was the flavor of the month he'd get a Wrestlemania pay day and just being in WWE ups his pay grade on the independent circuit. He could charge more just by virtue of being a former WWE Superstar (because Independent companies love being able to advertise Former WWE Superstar on their programs) and he wouldn't have had to completely destroy his body like he did in TNA with constant hardcore matches involving thumbtacks, broken glass, unprotected chair shots... and everything else TNA had him do.

That dude better have enough money to get that shit fixed. At first it was a cool look but now just throw in whatever u use in everyday life and move on with the look.

Even if Taker squashed him immediately at Mania he would have been booked better than in TNA.

I'm honestly more amazed that it was even in the cards in the first place than him turning it down.
Parks has been talented, but the Abyss character has always been discount Kane on its best day.

Well, no. Because he'd still have gotten the huge payout that entailed. 'chewed up and spit out' or not, one 'Mania match would be a great investment; particularly since he could've come back to a virtual hero's welcome to TNA when they were full on pushing anyone that had been in WWE at all. Just from a financial standpoint it's an odd decision.

Abyss tries to act hardcore, but apparently he's not hardcore enough to take them both.

I don't really buy into Abyss was suppose to be booked to wrestle The Undertaker as a sure thing story. I'm sure they tell every big man wrestler they are about to sign that they are going to wrestle The Undertaker and most likely at Mania. Like it was originally suppose to be Nathan Jones vs. The Undertaker, then The Undertaker vs. A-Train, then The Undertaker and Nathan Jones vs. A-Train and The Big Show to finally The Undertaker vs. A-Train and Big Show in a handicapped match. Vince McMahon loves to change his f***ing mind all the time and The Undertaker always had a lot of say in his Wrestlemania matches. Like he was the one who lobbied to get Nathan Jones out of the card to wrestle Orton instead.
Or how it was suppose to be The Undertaker vs. Heidenreich. Then The Undertaker and Kane vs. Heidenreich and Snitsky. To finally Undertaker vs. Orton. Hell the original rumours was The Undertaker vs. Luthor Reigns. Then there was suppose to be The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett or The Undertaker vs. Braun Strowman.
