Let's just face it...Bayley's staying in NXT forever. NXT's Tommy Dreamer. Just waiting for the weight gain and her constantly crying whenever she talk about NXT.

I HATE 20 PPVs in a year. Sometimes too much is just too much. :/ If they really do go the "bunch of low-budget Network Specials + four/five big shows" route, I think it could fly. Give me Mania, the Rumble, Survivor Series, King of the Ring, and Summerslam as the "event" shows, and then a dozen or so "Saturday Night's Main Event" type Network PPVs and I'll be happy as a clam. Think of it. A whole bunch of shows, one or more per month, that focus mostly on in-ring wrestling. While only one or two matches are specifically tied to ongoing story lines. Maybe the IC title match storyline is the main event of a 2-hour show, and the rest of the card is filled with solid exhibition matches. Maybe even matches featuring local (not Local) talent. Show off what the Superstars can do, without having to sacrifice the heat of other contracted talent. THAT is how you make new fans *and* sell more Network subscriptions. How the hell is a bunch of meaningless unrelated filler you have to pay for going to expand the fanbase? If anything having more stuff happen on free TV with more emphasis on making everything have an overall point and tie into a greater story where you don't want to miss a thing would be much more likely to do that.

I don't trust that they can come up with enough material to make that many shows coherent and interesting.
Outside of some brief runs of the Attitude Era, it's no surprise that their most consistent run of good character and story development came Pre-1995 when they had 5 PPVs or less per year. It's too much to ask of any writing crew or crews to book for 50+ characters every single week and build to a crescendo every month. Especially when it all has to make sense to and be approved by one 70 year old man.

I would be surprised if they changed the minitron/big screen for each of the shows. If they bring back the red ropes for Raw and blue for Smackdown I would be happy though. I miss Red ropes ropes and black ropes.

I'm assuming the 20 ppvs include Takeover, and stuff like Beast from the East.
I mean if so Takeovers alone make it add up to 16 ppvs.

20 PPV's? Isn't that kind of over-saturating the audience? Yes in that most people aren't going to be watching all 20 PPVs. There was a survey done by WWE during the first brand split that showed that around 80% of respondents said they only watched one brand, so that's something WWE should be expecting anyway. No in that WWE is in the original content business for the Network. The more they have, the more they can make it an attractive package and, say they do end up raising the price of it, having double the PPVs will make it an easier pill to swallow.

Things I suspect will happen;
New SD brand title which which will be used to stagnate a fan favorites career in lieu of actually giving them a WWE title run.
Drafts which will break u established teams for no other reason than to to sell the two brands gimmicks.
Drafts that will neuter SD if it starts becoming more over than the main show.

Twenty PPVs: Two a month plus the Big Four.
If they give a World Title for each show, I hope the eagle belt is one of them. Or if you make a new one, make it look like an actual belt and not a class ring.
EDIT: Why are they doing the brand split again anyway? The whole thing just kind of came up out of nowhere. I guess it's to give the heirs experience in running a promotion so they'll be prepared after Vince passes on. (Not sure about that, though.) Shane runs Raw, Stephanie runs Smackdown, and Triple H runs NXT.

I think present day WWE booking will be what harms Smackdown instead of any malice on the WWE's part. If they intentionally set out to undermine Smackdown this time, it will run the risk of souring the relationship they have with USA at a time their ratings for Raw are on the slide. Smackdown as the taped B show isn't doing amazingly for USA so they're throwing money and effort at it to see if they can fix that by making it matter again. If NBCUniversal don't want Smackdown when it's up for renewal, returning to Syfy won't be on the cards and they're probably not going to be able to find it another home on a major network.

Makes sense I suppose. I had figured they would go with the old model of four RAW ppvs, four Smackdown ppvs, and four joint ones-or maybe five of each and two joint ones. Twenty seems like a jaw dropping number compared to their current output

IMO the only way to really fix the saturation issue is to drop Raw back to 2 hours.
Otherwise we're going to be seeing ALOT of repeated matched on Raw. Less so on Smackdown.

I miss Red ropes ropes and black ropes. Yeah I think the Titantron and mini-tron will remain, and they will dress the stages around them. I believe that the mini-tron is now linked to that fancy Gorilla position room they have built.

Honestly, 6 hours of live programming plus 1 - 2 PPVs a month will ultimately be the death of WWE.

Becky Lynch is presently at a local medical facility."

Maybe they realized that having 5 hours of the exact same show within 24 hours is a bit much.
When they went all "McDonald's" on the RAW & SD making them basically the same show a few years back, it was the beginning of the end for me. Creatively, they never rebounded and having 5+ hours of basically RAW, then RAW-lite is audience fatigue in HD.

the smackdown blue colors have always been hard on my eyes, not sure why, but the quality never looked good to me, even in HD...
