- According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, the current idea for the brand split right now is for there to be different crews, writing teams, referees, colored ropes, and sets. Right now there are 20 PPV events scheduled for 2017.
- It appears that Finn Balor and American Alpha will be debuting on the main roster once the brand split takes place. Bayley will likely be staying in NXT at least through the Brooklyn special.
I'm happy they will be doing a different look for each show. I was really worried about that one.
EDIT: Seems someone slipped this news in with the Roman news! Very tricky!

Not sure how I feel about American Alpha getting fast tracked like this.

I LOVE the shows having different identities.
I HATE 20 PPVs in a year. Sometimes too much is just too much. :/
American Alpha should show up on draft night and immediately be split up by the draft just for the lols.

Not sure how I feel about American Alpha getting fast tracked like this. Would it really count as "fast tracking" to see Jason Jordan, a guy who had been part of NXT since the first Full Sail episode in 2012, getting the callup after a year since he finally caught fire, though?

I'm all for different sets and colors, though I really hope we're not going back to "red show, blue show" with the same camerawork and presentation for each. It would be nice to give both shows a visual overhaul, and to make them somewhat different in terms of shooting, cutting and graphics.

While true for them individually, as a team it seems fast. I just think there is more they can do on NXT (admittedly a few matches I want to see) and I worry about them getting lost in the shuffle. I'd love to see them get more time on the mic as well.

The tag division numbers seem to rise and fall like the damn tide these days. It was only a few months ago where it seemed like there was nobody in it, and now...
New Day Wyatt Family
Bullet Club Usos Enzo/Big Cass Vaudevillains Lucha Dragons Social Outcasts Dudley Boyz Goldust/R-Truth Breeze/Fandango Ascension Shining Stars
With the possibility of American Alpha and The Hype Bros coming in (if they call up Rawley)? I wouldn't be surprised if we're getting another set of tag belts again for the draft.

20 PPV's in a year. They done lost their minds.
You can change the sets all you want, but as long as the shows are still directed by Dunn, it'll still be the same lazy, repetitive, and sadly predictable production complete with buzz words, neon wall lights in all backstage segments, and dudes wrestling for 1 person in the arena, the hard camera.

Bayley's at least appearing on shows, she's fine. Ambrose of all people had a 4 month period where he wasn't even in FCW/NXT, he was just nowhere.

I'm really glad to hear about the ropes. I'm sick of seeing white ring ropes all the time. Change it up some. Like, have orange ropes for Summerslam or something.

"20 PPV's a year" might also be including NXT specials and/or brand-specific specials.

This actually makes excited for the brand split honestly. But 20 ppvs?!?. That's a bit overkill!
Speaking of ppvs, with raw and smackdown supposly having different sets, does that mean they'll go back to having uniquely sets for ppvs to? God I hope so. Tired of seeing the same damn wall set on every wwe show

20 PPVs a year is a whole lot of nope for me. I can barely be bothered to watch all of the existing PPVs at it is, I'm sure as hell not doubling it. I doubt I'll even watch both brands really.

I HATE 20 PPVs in a year. Sometimes too much is just too much. :/ If they really do go the "bunch of low-budget Network Specials + four/five big shows" route, I think it could fly. Give me Mania, the Rumble, Survivor Series, King of the Ring, and Summerslam as the "event" shows, and then a dozen or so "Saturday Night's Main Event" type Network PPVs and I'll be happy as a clam. Think of it. A whole bunch of shows, one or more per month, that focus mostly on in-ring wrestling. While only one or two matches are specifically tied to ongoing story lines. Maybe the IC title match storyline is the main event of a 2-hour show, and the rest of the card is filled with solid exhibition matches. Maybe even matches featuring local (not Local) talent. Show off what the Superstars can do, without having to sacrifice the heat of other contracted talent. THAT is how you make new fans *and* sell more Network subscriptions.

Just happy we are finally getting different sets again. Hopefully they start putting effort into the ppv sets again as well

20 PPV's? Isn't that kind of over-saturating the audience?
