I LOVE the shows having different identities. I HATE 20 PPVs in a year. Sometimes too much is just too much. :/ American Alpha should show up on draft night and immediately be split up by the draft just for the lols. At least they are on the WWE network for a lot cheaper. At 9.99 a month you'd basically be getting each pay-per-view for $6 each. Not a bad deal at all

Between the fact Smackdown is going to Tuesdays and the speculation that it's returning to its blue and black roots, it's essentially just gonna become a more consequential/better run/more vibrant TNA Impact.
I'm sure it is a surprise to some of you that Impact blue itself.

I don't get why they aren't keeping SmackDown on Thursdays.
Wouldn't that make things more spaced out and flowing better than to have three consecutive shows in a row? (RAW, SmackDown, NXT)
If it's a taping issue, why can't they tape (air) on Thursdays?

(RAW, SmackDown, NXT) If it's a taping issue, why can't they tape (air) on Thursdays? They tape on Tuesdays to save money in production. They only need the one crew for two days (3 if a PPV) and can cut expenses by not having to fly them from RAW to home to Smackdown or pay them to do nothing on Tues. and Wednesday while waiting for the Thursday show. They have been airing on Thursdays since the beginning of the year, how many people you think actually know that? Not many it seems. More importantly they want to be live for Smackdown because that makes them mean more to the channels airing it and means more money in their coffers. That means, running live on Tuesdays.

Well, to be fair most accounts have been saying USA isn't paying them anything extra for this. But all the same WWE still really needs to do it, because they can't afford to give USA anything to be displeased about. I have my doubts about how well it's going to work out, though. Really think WWE's going to over-saturate the market.

I'm glad SmackDown is going live and I kind of understand those issues, I just dislike it being smooshed together between two other WWE shows like that. It throws off pacing of storylines even more by having a major show right after RAW every week instead of having time for viewers to digest everything in between airings. Like the post above me says, that's not a good idea for a business model.

Well, on one hand it sounds like overkill but on the other it is good news for people wanting each brand to be its own thing. Think of it as WCW and WWF only under one umbrella and probably pissed away if Smackdown gains any steam at all.

Oh, yeah, for me, this is absolutely for the better, just not convinced it is for the company. There's basically no chance personally I'm watching both brands every week, I'll just watch whichever I like more which, if history is any indication, is probably going to be SmackDown.

Hopefully the SmackDown and Raw sets will be a remake of the 2002-2007 sets.

I'm all for it except for the 20 PPV thing. If they do it like before where they alternate PPV every month then you have more time to build up feuds. You get 2-month storylines for each show.

If the sets are set up completely different and distinct from each other, much like RAW and Nitro being like night and day, I can get on board with it. But if all it is a different colour theme and tweaking the titantron, then I am not interested. This needs to be branded totally different. Like I am watching two different promotions.

Sounds more like a different coat of paint than actual differences.

I was on hiatus diring the original split. Not sure how I feel about the idea. My concern is the title scene. I hope they don't go back to two main titles. I hated that idea so much.

When Cole hears Tobias is an 'Analrapist' he'll have flashbacks to Heidenreich.

20 PPVs/Network Specials a year would be lethal.
Years ago, I argued the merit of having 10 PPVs, at most, annually. Even if I get the WWE Network, I'm not going to spend all my time watching wrestling, especially if I don't like the current product.
But I'm hoping the SmackDown Fist returns.

Just because there are 20 doesn't mean you have to watch all 20. Just watch the events you're most interested in. Or fast forward through the events and just watch the matches you're most interested in.
