No Rocky Horror, no Evil Dead: the Musical and no Repo! The Genetic Opera? RUBBISH! You all get a zero!
On a more serious note, I'll warn you in advance I might take a little while to send in my results as I'll be busy pretty much all day today.

With 11 left...there will only be two rounds, and after two there will be a double elimination: Lowest Score and Sing Off Loser
Round 13 won't be dropped until this one is finished, so everyone knows where they stand

Finally got around to making and sending my rankings. I'm tired, I'm sick, I have a migraine, I'm out of aspirin, I needed some music to soothe me.

And here are the results for Round 12: It's Broadway Folks! These scores will be added to Round 10 and 11's combined totals to determine who will meet in our fourth Elimination Sing-off. Round 12 also featured an optional bonus round that several of our contestants sent songs in for. That round theme was Covered Talent, and asked for cover songs performed on reality Singing shows such as American Idol. Bonus points were distributed in the following manner: First Place adds seven points to overall score, second gets five, third gets three, fourth gets one. Here are the bonus points: {Spoiler} 1st. Linkin Bridge - Freebird - Pegasus 6 + 6 + 4 + 7= 23 (Bonus 7 pts) T-2nd. Jesse Kinch - I Put a Spell on You - Waffel 4 + 3 + 7 + 5= 19 (Bonus 5 pts) T-2nd. Dia Frampton - Heartless - Z-A 1 + 7 + 1 + 3= 12 (Bonus 1 pt) 6th. Andrew Garcia - Straight Up - Chaos 5 + 2 + 2 + 2= 11 7th. Julien Dore - Like a Virgin - Rad 2 + 1 + 6 + 1= 10
Round 12's scores are as follows. We'll post the individual round results first, then the overall total for Rounds 10-12, showing which two contestants will face-off in the next Elimination round! {Spoiler} 1st. Waffle- Heathers The Musical - Dead Girl Walking - 43 pts (12 + 11 + 11 + 4 + 5 bonus) 2nd. Yaya- Beyonce - All I Could Do Is Cry (Cadillac Records) - 36 pts (4 + 6 + 12 + 11 +3 bonus) 3rd. J- Little Shop of Horrors - Skid Row (Downtown) - 31 pts (7 + 10 + 2 + 12) T-6th. Knailsic- Hamilton - Dear Theodosia - 28 pts (8 + 5 + 10 + 5) T-6th. Suave- Legally Blonde - Omigod You Guys - 28 pts (10 + 8 + 8 + 2) 8th. Jazzman- Crazy Ex Girlfriend - Settle For Me - 26 pts (6 + 4 + 3 + 8 + 5 bonus) 9th. Magnum- Nightmare Before Christmas - What's This? - 22 pts (2 + 10 + 7 + 3) 10th. Z-A- Buffy The Vampire Slayer "Once More With Feeling" - I'll Never Tell - 21 pts (3 + 2 + 5 + 10 +1 bonus) 11th. The overall totals: {Spoiler} 1st. J - 40 + 33 = 73 + 31= 104 (-) 2nd. Waffel - 40 + 18 = 58 + 43= 101 (+2) T-3rd. Suave - 34 + 28 = 62 + 28= 90 (-) T-3rd. Yakishi - 31 + 23 = 54 + 36= 90 (+3) 5th. Rad - 34 + 36 = 70 + 16= 86 (-3) 6th. Knailsic - 23 + 30 = 53 + 28= 81 (+1) 7th. Gus Richlen - 22 + 22 = 44 + 31= 75 (+1) T-8th. Chaos - 26 + 31 = 57 + 17= 74 (-3) T-8th. Good luck to our Elimination Round contestants! Finally, the theme for Round 13 is... Same Old Song... The contestants must send in a song with so many clichés it is considered "Cookie Cutter". Could be any genre, as all genres have their own clichés. The challenge will be on both the contestants and judges. For the contestants, it is finding the threshold between what sneaks in as stereotypical and what is just too predictable. For the judges, it will be opening your minds to not only different genres, but knowingly go into songs that most would be considered bad simply based on cliché. All Songs Due on Wednesday by the start of Survivor (Live on CBS).

Honestly I am overjoyed that I scored first place this round. Heathers is my favorite musical ever and J.D. is my absolute dream role. I'm glad it was such a hit with the judges!

Here are my rankings and comments. And just to keep the main course for the end, let's start with the bonus round:
1. Dia Frampton - Heartless 2. Linkin Bridge - Freebird 3. Joshua Ledet - It's a Man's Man's Man's World 4. Rachel Crow - If I Were a Boy 5. Jesse Kinch - I Put a Spell on You 6. Andrew Garcia - Straight Up 7. Julien Doré - Like a Virgin
Andrew Garcia - Straight Up
The song is kinda nice but I don't think this guy's interpretation of it is anything special. It kind of sounds like when you start jamming with friends and it's fun but it's not exactly musical bliss.
Dia Frampton - Heartless
This one impressed me a lot more. Not only is the melody great but the singer gives it a very unique identity. Kind of amazing that it'd come from a Kanye West song.
Jesse Kinch - I Put a Spell on You
This one lands somewhere in between for me. I like the style of the song but the singer seems to lack the control that the song requires.
Joshua Ledet - It's a Man's Man's Man's World
Very very big shoes to fill with this song and while the singer puts on a very good performance and shows talent, I think he still falls way short of the original.
Julien Doré - Like a Virgin
A very daring cover of a classic song, which if you're going to try and stand out in one of those shows, you might as well go for and the guy definitely has talent as he's proven by being one of the few "Nouvelle Star" (the French version of American Idol) contestants to actually go on to have a musical career, this particular performance is... really not good.
It could have worked, and like I said, I respect the audacity, but he just doesn't have the voice or style to pull off this stunt. Sorry, fellow Frenchman but that's a "non" for me.
Linkin Bridge - Freebird
FREEBIIIIRD!! Right, that's enough of that. Anyway, if you told me "you know what'd be cool? A Hip-Hop version of Freebird!", I would have told you to get the f*** out of my house and never darken my door again, and yet this really, really works. You can tell these guys know and love the song and they really managed to stay true to the spirit of the original while giving it their own twist. Good show.
Rachel Crow - If I Were a Boy
I wasn't a big fan of the original so this was going to be a tough challenge either way. The girl certainly has a hell of a lot of energy and an extremely powerful voice for such a young child. Frankly, I think I actually like this version a little bit better than the original. That said... I still don't think it's that good a song to begin with so she can only do so much.
And now, for Round 12:
1. Hedwig and the Angry Inch - The Origin of Love 2. Heathers The Musical - Dead Girl Walking 3. Nightmare Before Christmas - What's This? 4. Little Shop Of Horrors - Skid Row (Downtown) 5. Legally Blonde - Omigod You Guys 6. Fiddler On The Roof - If I Were A Rich Man 7. Beyonce - All I Could Do Is Cry (Cadillac Records) 8. Hamilton - Dear Theodosia 9. Crazy Ex Girlfriend - Settle For Me 10. The Lion King on Broadway- Can You Feel the Love Tonight? 11. Buffy The Vampire Slayer "Once More With Feeling" - I'll Never Tell 12. Audra McDonald - Climb Ev'ry Mountain
Audra McDonald - Climb Ev'ry Mountain
I have never seen or listened to "The Sound of Music" but it strikes me as the kind of musical I wouldn't like as it all looks rather boring and generic, with a generous helping of glurge and this song doesn't really help me think otherwise. Admittedly, it's very well sung, but it's incredibly academic and lacks personality to me.
Beyonce - All I Could Do Is Cry (Cadillac Records)
Beyonce seems to be trying to channel 40's or 50's era singers with this one and to be honest, she does a pretty good job but the song itself doesn't really do much for me.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer "Once More With Feeling" - I'll Never Tell
Is there seriously ANY U.S. TV show that has NOT done a musical episode? I mean, seriously, Buffy needed one? Oh well, song's okay, I guess but again, it's pretty generic fare, to the point it feels more like a parody of a generic musical song, but it doesn't really go far enough in that direction either.
Crazy Ex Girlfriend - Settle For Me
It's kind of the same as the Buffy song although I've got to admit I like the concept of it being themed around a guy trying to convince a woman to be content with mediocrity but yeah, I still think it doesn't take it far enough to live up to its full potential.
Fiddler On The Roof - If I Were A Rich Man
Getting a bit better. The music is more creative as are the lyrics and I especially enjoy the slight Eastern European tinge it has, it gives it a little bit of a quirk. It still doesn't drive me crazy but it's one I genuinely like.
Hamilton - Dear Theodosia
A sweet song full of emotion but yet again, it just isn't my thing and comes across as overly simple for my tastes.
Heathers The Musical - Dead Girl Walking
Now THIS is more like it! If you're going to tell a story through song, you should go nuts with it and this is what this song does. Plus I gotta love a song that's about girl wanting to f*** herself silly.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch - The Origin of Love
It's the first I hear of this musical but this song alone makes me want to check it out. It's deeply moving, beautifully played and sung and most importantly, makes you feel the characters' plight. Like the previous example, THIS is what I consider a good use of the medium, allowing the audience to make an emotional connection to the characters.
Legally Blonde - Omigod You Guys
I already knew a little bit about Legally Blonde and it does seem pretty interesting and this song, cheesy as it is (not that it's a bad thing for a musical), is really catchy and energetic and like the prebious two exemples, really serves its theme well.
The Lion King on Broadway- Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
You go for the Lion King and you DON'T pick Hakuna Matata?! Oh well, your loss. This one's almost as famous but... heh, never thought it was among the Disney greats. In fact, it's kind of dull to me.
Little Shop Of Horrors - Skid Row (Downtown)
Yay, Little Shop of Horrors! (How did I not even notice this one when the list was announced?) Kind of surprised you didn't go for the more obvious choices of "Feed Me" or "Mean Green Mother From Outer Space", it's still a nice song and in a way, I respect that you didn't go for the easy picks.
I really like the mixture of resignation and optimism which actually does a good job of recreating the feeling of someone hoping against hope to get out of a desperate situation.
Nightmare Before Christmas - What's This?
Aw, man, talk about a nostalgia trip! I haven't seen this since my childhood (and I saw the French version so it hasn't full satiated my nostlagia) and while I have a preference for "This Is Halloween", that one is still a great and memorable song.
