There's one song I don't know whether to put at the top of the list due to fitting the theme so perfectly or to the bottom for being so asinine.

Like a Meek Mill track, I drop later then expected
Round 14: Choose Your Own Adventure
With so much stakes, I am gonna make this a chaotic round and you may choose one of two paths
Path One: A Remix of a Different Color
Choose a song remix that changes the genre of the original (Country to Techno, Pop to Punk, etc). You may also send in a song where the artist changes his/her/their usual style to fit the song
Path Two: Acoustic Nightmare
Simply choose an acoustic song. Piano, Guitar, Acapella. Go crazy
One last twisy since this is a big round: This is a double dip round. Remember the Double Dip rules though. If you use an artist the second time, They are off limits until a No Limits round
Deadline is Wednesday Night before Survivor.
Have Fun

And now for the results of Round 13: Same Old Songs. I have been told by the Host that the bottom four scoring contestants for this round should especially pay attention to the scores, for a reason that he will elaborate later. Round 14: Choose Your Own Adventure (Path One: A Remix of a Different Color or Path Two: Acoustic Nightmare) has already been announced and we are currently taking songs for it. But first the results of this round: {Spoiler}{Spoiler} 1st. Pegasus- Chase - Get It On 11 + 10 + 12 + 9= 42 2nd. Rad- APB - I'd Like To Shoot You Down 10 + 8 + 7 + 9= 34 3rd. Jazzman- Pharoah Sanders - The Creator Has a Master Plan 12 + 2 + 5 + 12= 31 4th. Gus- TRUSTCompany - Downfall 3 + 7 + 10 + 10= 30 T-5th. Z-A- Bo Burnham - Country Song (Panderin') 2 + 11 + 3 + 11= 27 T-5th. Suave- Frank Ocean - Forrest Gump 6 + 12 + 8 + 1= 27 T-7th. Waffle- Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle 9 + 9 + 1 + 5= 24 T-7th. Knailsic- Twinkle - Golden Lights 7 + 4 + 6 + 7= 24 9th. Mangum- Flo Rida - My House 5 + 6 + 9 + 2= 22 T-10th. J- Lady Gaga - So Happy I Could Die 8 + 3 + 4 + 6= 21 T-10th. Chaos- O-Town - All or Nothing 1 + 5 + 11 + 4= 21 12th. Yaya- Insane Clown Posse - Piggy Pie 4 + 1 + 2 + 3= 10

um...sure. I guess.
Though come to think of it, I'm now quite glad my paranoia came into effect when submitting my next song. I wanted to save it for a Sing-Off, but I've got a feeling I'm gonna need it right here.

I think you chose a fantastic song, but it was a bit obvious (and, since you went as Quicksilver for a while, easy to guess it was yours) for the round. It's beautiful but other songs took bigger risks. Rankings: 1. Pharoah Sanders - The Creator Has a Master Plan 2. Chase - Get It On 3. APB - I'd Like To Shoot You Down 4. Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle 5. Lady Gaga - So Happy I Could Die 6. Twinkle - Golden Lights 7. Frank Ocean - Forrest Gump 8. Flo Rida - My House 9. Insane Clown Posse - Piggy Pie 10. TRUSTCompany - Downfall 11. Bo Burnham - Country Song (Panderin') 12. O-Town - All or Nothing

I just went with best song honestly, not whether it fit the theme.

I just went with best song honestly, not whether it fit the theme. It's partly theme (though this was a bit harder in terms of theme, so it's not like the last round where you could pick Cats or Phantom of the Opera or what have you) and it's also partly how popular it is. Like, if you're going to do Jim Croce, I would likely reward a more obscure song more. As it is, it was a high choice for me because it's a great song, it just didn't take the risks that a few of the others did or achieve the same level of complexity or musical prowess, imo. I do think that the rounds are getting stronger, though.

I figured my song would either do awesome or fail miserable. Looks like I split it down the middle.

Alright, normally I would just post my rankings and comments as I wrote them while judging the songs (I save my impressions to a text file so I can just copy-paste them here) but this time, I feel I need to explain my reasoning more specifically:
I basically rank songs based on two major criteria: relevance to the theme and individual quality. I tend to give quality more importance and then use relevance as a sort of tie-breaker, although I have on occasion ranked a song higher than I normally would just because I felt the contestant found a really fitting song. And while that's what I did here as well, it's not as simple as usual because due the theme's very nature, the most fitting songs would also be the least interesting ones (even though some songs do manage to be cliché AND enjoyable) so this round, I basically decided to give the win to the song that had the best mix of quality and adherence to the theme.
Then, for number 2 and 3, I picked songs that I felt were perfect fits for the theme due to being indeed extremely cookie-cutter, despite me not liking them very much as songs. Then, for ranks 4 to 8, I wanted to reward songs that didn't quite fit the theme as well but are good songs in their own right. Then, for songs 9-12, I went with songs that I didn't like as much AND didn't fit the theme well enough to get a high ranking for being good choices with one exception: I normally would have ranked "Country Song" higher as I did like it and found it funny, but I decided to penalize it as, being a parody, I felt it didn't match the spirit of the theme since it's intentionally caricaturing common clichés and not made in earnest by someone who was genuinely trying to make something good.
So while I usually use the same criteria for the entire list, this time I actually had very different standards for various parts of the list.
1. Chase - Get It On 2. O-Town - All Or Nothing 3. TRUSTcompany - Downfall 4. Flo Rida - My House 5. Frank Ocean - Forrest Gump 6. APB - I'd Like To Shoot You Down 7. Twinkle - Golden Lights 8. Pharoah Sanders - The Creator Has A Master Plan 9. Lady Gaga - So Happy I Could Die 10. Bo Burnham - Country Song (Panderin') 11. Insane Clown Posse - Piggy Pie 12. Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle
APB - I'd Like To Shoot You Down
Interesting... this kind of feels like a proto-techno song with a repetitive beat and very minimalistic, also repetitive lyrics (although come to think of it, Pink Floyd was already doing stuff like this years earlier). It's not that bad and, oddly, it kind of reminded me of some of the music you'd hear in PS1-era video games.
Bo Burnham - Country Song (Panderin')
I've gotta say it WAS pretty funny (although parts of it seem unnecessarily agressive) especially since the guy is actually a pretty good singer and I can see what the player was trying to do, although I am not entirely sure parodies, being intentional caricatures, really fit the spirit of the round.
Chase - Get It On
I can definitely see why this song was chosen as acliché song, but this is also a great example of why something being cliché isn't necessarily bad as this one is very catchy and fun and really makes you wanna dance. It pretty much IS a hodgepodge of all things 70's, in all the best ways.
Flo Rida - My House
Very similarly to the previous song, it's not the most creative song but damn if it isn't enjoyable. Come to think of it, it's fitting that it was the WrestleMania theme song considering I thought pretty much the same thing about that PPV.
Frank Ocean - Forrest Gump
Man, I really don't remember that song and I loved that movie. It's a nice, relaxing song but it also isn't anything special.
Insane Clown Posse - Piggy Pie
Yyyeeaaah... I tend to think the Insane Clown Posse gets a bad rap (no pun intended) but this... really isn't good. It starts off pretty good but gets obnoxious real quick. It kind of feels like it should be a generic entrance theme in a WWE game.
Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle
Yeah, this one is definitely cliché, alright and not in a good way, plus it's in a style I'm really not fond of to begin with, so that certainly does not work for me.
Lady Gaga - So Happy I Could Die
I was a bit surprised at first to find a Lady gaga song in this list as love her or hate her, I never thought there was anything "cliché" about her or her music but after listening to it, I get where the player is coming from and it's a bit disappointing as it really does feel like fairly generic electro-pop stuff and Lady Gaga can do much better than this.
O-Town - All Or Nothing
Blimey, that fits the theme almost too well because this really feels like a pure product of the boys band fad of the late 90's (something I like to rub in the face of people complaining about what kids listen to today while saying that 90's music was so great). It feels completely manufactured and artificial. It's perfectly competent from an academic point of view but it has no soul. But I guess that fits the theme perfectly, so... congrats?
Pharoah Sanders - The Creator Has A Master Plan
First of all, sorry but I'm not listening to all 32 minutes of this thing. Second, I'm facing a similar dilemma as the previous song, but for the exact opposite reason. I actually like the music and it makes a very nice ambience track, but I don't think it fits the theme at all as it's anything but cliché or cookie-cutter, it's not even very cliché as far as psychedelic tracks go. Not sure where to place it considering I don't want to give a low ranking to a good song, but I also can't rank it too high considering it misses the point of the theme, in my opinion.
TRUSTcompany - Downfall
And here comes the Nu Metal version of that O-Town song (although to be fair, I can at least believe these guys wrote the song themselves, hich is more than I can say for O-Town), complete with a "band in a warehouse" video. It almost feels like this was made to illustrate what the genre is like without the influence of any band's style so they tried to come up with the most generic example possible. Terrible song but great pick for this round, I guess.

If I was a judge the only way All Or Nothing would not get 12 points is if someone else submitted a top tier level song from Color Me Badd,BSB or Soul Decision.
