Good luck everybody!

At least it wasn't a shut out. So that's something I guess. Good luck everybody! A bit of a mirror match up between you and suave there in terms of musical tastes. I was pulling for you this Season, I have to say. You did make it to the finale in the past, but I wanted to see you do that again with, perhaps, less restrictions. You try not to have any favoritism as a judge and, on an individual song basis, you can do that. That said, you're probably in my top five players of all time, based on what you use musically. I'm a big fan of what you bring musically. I marked out for your use of the Smiths, Jimmy Cliff, Benjamin Clementine and there was a span of a few rounds there, where you picked Swing Out Sister and The System where I felt you were doing things other players weren't and I was very happy to see that. I do think that your season will come around at some point. You're too good of a player for it not to.

I'm flattered to somehow have made it into your fave five. Maybe I'll eventually find the right formula, who knows? I deviated from my normal play style a little this time. Didn't work out so back to the drawing board. To be honest I'm not exactly sure at this point how many decent runs I have left in me. I definitely need to use this time off to put my ear to the ground and reload.

To be honest, both songs were very good choices but Beach house was just that good. Sorry, Mr. J.

I feel like my lack of knowledge of the various artists in this round may be weakening my judgement a bit as there are a lot of songs I like but I don't know how different from their usual style they are and therefore how well they fit the theme. So I guess I'll just go by which one I like best.

Judges are working on their rankings, including myself. We'll reveal the theme for Round 18 to keep up the pace, which will be added to the results of Round 17: The Sincerest Form of Flattery and then, later, Round 19. Round 18 was suggested by fw91 and modified a bit because it can be pushed in some unexpected directions. Round 18 is... Head to Toe For this round you have two options, both related to the human body. 1. Choose one song that in some way references one or more body parts. They can be named in the lyrics, title, instruments can replicate an aspect of a body part, etc. This can be applied to parts/elements of the body such as blood, bones, hair, sweat, breath, skin, etc. that may not necessarily be thought of as body parts on first glance.
2. Choose one song that talks about the body or bodies as a whole. It can be a particular person's body and it can be negative or positive or neutral, etc. The song can be about different aspects of body culture: the song could talk about body image, disease, tattoos, etc. Bring creativity to this, as we are sure you will.

Feels good turning in a song fairly quickly after needing an extended period of time to think of one for the last round.

Very sorry guys, I've had a busy/rough couple of days. I was going to do it last night, but then Halloween, etc. I went to bed early (which I needed to do anyway since I work early today). I'll judge today for real. After work. And after the cable guy leaves. Definitely today.
