I really hope whoever picked that knows that A) they double-dipped in a non-double-dip round and B) that video doesn't even play the actual song (I know what that song sounds like and that ain't it).

If I could come up with the rounds, I might do it one of these days.)

I feel like I've got to congratulate everyone on that round. It was an especially good one and I really appreciate how you guys really took some risks, didn't go for obvious choices and came up with what may be our strongest round yet and it's another one where some songs would probably have been ranked higher if it weren't for the amazing average quality. I know I've added a few songs to my playlist.

Judges are getting their rankings in (I just did mine) and this has been quite a difficult round to score, imo. We have to move forward and hopefully keep up the pace. The last two rounds have been building up to this one, as the scores from Round 17 and 18 will be combined with Round 19's to determine the winner of this set of Rounds and the three contestants that will be facing off in the three-way double elimination sing-off. Ten great players will then be down to eight. Round 19's theme was suggested by Ssnakebite, the Number One Frenchman and we feel that it's a great way to wind this set of rounds down. So, take a deep breath and clear your head, because Round 19's theme is... CatharsisFor this Round, choose a Song that either: Helps you blow off some steam or vent. Doesn't have to be an angry, violent or even loud song, just something that always does the trick whenever you need to clear the air.
or
Builds in intensity, getting greater and greater, until reaching a moment of release, a catharsis if you will

Very long day, evidently. It's retail during the holiday season, what're you gonna do? PM me the results? Post the results after you're done working? Ask a judge to take over temporarily if you lack the time to host this? Post the results when you were on here less than an hour ago? I've hosted while having a job before. I've spent countless hours running the game when I've had a job and was in college. Other people can say the same thing. Maybe not make promises that you can't keep?

It's not that
I'll pm you Tyger, but I might as well let you all know what is happening IRL
I'm Quitting Walmart today. I can deal with a lot of things that retail throws at me like countless hours, bad customers and doing other people's jobs...but to feel unsafe around co-workers and have my boss say that if I don't show up, I'm just taking advantage of them...no. I can't do it. I'm only f***ing human.
Expect a PM shortly

You may be quitting Walmart in the physical world, but they will always have a firm grasp on your soul.

And here are the results for Round 18: Head to Toe, a very competitive round imo. Round 18's scores will be combined with Round 17's and that total will be added to Round 19: Catharsis's score to determine the three players that will meet in the double elimination sing-off. The results of Round 18: Head to Toe: {Spoiler} 1st. Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck - Z-A 9 + 6 + 7 + 8= 30 pts 2nd. Accept - Stampede - Gus 10 + 2 + 5 + 10= 27 pts T-3rd. Ben Folds Five - Boxing - Suave 2 + 8 + 10 + 4= 24 pts T-3rd. Danielle Bradbury - Human - Jazz 4 + 10 + 9 + 1= 24 pts T-3rd. Miss Li - My Heart Goes Boom - Yaya 5 + 4 + 6 + 9= 24 pts 6th. The Shins - A Comet Appears - Waffel 3 + 5 + 8 + 6= 22 pts 7th. Alt-J - Every Other Freckle - Peg 1 + 9 + 2 + 7= 19 pts T-8th. Lloyd Cole and the Commotions - Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken - Rad 8 + 3 + 4 + 3= 18 pts T-8th. Pendulum - Propane Nightmares - Magnum 6 + 7 + 3 + 2= 18 pts 10th. Saint Motel - Getaway - Chaos 7 + 1 + 1 + 5= 14 pts
Round 17 and 18 totals: {Spoiler} 1st Gus - 32 + 27= 59 pts 2nd. Waffel - 28 + 22= 50 pts 3rd. Suave - 25 + 24= 49 pts 4th. Z-A - 15 + 30= 45 pts 5th. Peg - 25 + 19= 44 pts T-6th. Magnum - 25 + 18= 43 pts T-6th. Yaya - 19 + 24= 43 pts 8th. Rad - 23 + 18= 41 pts T-9th. Chaos - 19 + 14= 33 pts T-9th. Jazz - 9 + 24= 33 pts

Odd coincidence: I knew that Rad used that particular song because in our first season, he used "Lloyd, I'm Ready to be Heartbroken" by Camera Obscura one round. I thought the title sounded familiar.

Fun fact: that's the second time Propane Nightmares has been chosen in this game. And yes, by Pendulum both times.

My rankings and comments:
1. Accept - Stampede 2. Miss Li - My Heart Goes Boom 3. Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck 4. Alt-J - Every Other Freckle 5. The Shins - A Comet Appears 6. Saint Motel - Getaway 7. Ben Folds Five - Boxing 8. Lloyd Cole And The Commotions - Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken 9. Pendulum - Propane Nightmares 10. Danielle Bradbury - Human
Accept - Stampede
Aw yeah! That's my jam! Some nice (by which I mean "nasty"), powerful, satisfying metal with an awesome build up. The kind of stuff that gets your blood pumping and makes it physically impossible not to headbang. That is an incredibly strong opening to the round and a song that's going to be very hard to top.
Alt-J - Every Other Freckle
Talk about tonal whiplash. And you know what? This one ain't half-bad either! It doesn't really sound like anything else I can think of (the closest thing would be Moby but even then it's onely vaguely similar). Its weirdness makes it a risky choice but it really pays off in my book.
Ben Folds Five - Boxing
I'm not sure what to make of this because weirdly, there is something about it I like and something about it that rubs me the wrong way and yet I cannot really put my finger on what makesme feel either of those thing. I guess the best way I could put it is that it's fairly creative but lacks control.
Danielle Bradbery - Human
Another case of a song being very pretty and very academically well performed but compared to how bursting with creativity the other picks have been so far, this just isn't a strong enough choice.
Lloyd Cole And The Commotions - Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken
Hm. I can tell this guy is trying but something about it feels artificial, like he's trying to imitate other artists with a style he likes but doesn't quite get it and doesn't really manage to transform it into his own thing.
Miss Li - My Heart Goes Boom
We've heard a lot of retro songs by modern artists in this contest so you'd think it might get old, but what I love about this one is that it doesn't just blindly emulate an old style, it takes it as inspiration and creates something completely new with it, which is exactly how to do retro right to me. And it sounds awesome!
Saint Motel - Getaway
That's a very interesting choice because it feels like soundtrack, which I usually say as a rather bad thing, meaning it's overly repetitive, but in this case, I mean it in a good way because not only is it just a straight-up good song to begin with, it's catchy and it's something you don't mind hearing over and over. I could hear that in the menu of a video game or something and never get tired of it.
The Shins - A Comet Appears
I really like a song like that because I wasn't with it at first but it won me over as I kept listening. It's very relaxing but also inspiring.
Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck
Classic 90's rap in the best of ways. Listening to this, it's no wonder that Wu Tang became so influencial. This track has a dirty, industrial feel to it that really works and makes it hit hard.
