Love the game but seriously f*** Titanic Monarch Zone. That level wanted to make me rage quit. If anyone say the water levels are the worst level in the Sonic series, haven't play this level yet.

I agree. That's the one zone in the whole game I didn't like. Felt disjointed and frustrating. On an unrelated note, I'm on a quest to get all the Chaos Emeralds now. I'm up to 3. |

I agree. That's the one zone in the whole game I didn't like. Felt disjointed and frustrating. On an unrelated note, I'm on a quest to get all the Chaos Emeralds now. I'm up to 3. It sad because I like the design of the level but screw those purple balls. Like I know those appeared in other sonic game but it wasn't as bad as this. |

Studiopolis act 1 boss is a pain in the ass. Great game so far, though.
Edit. Easier than I made it seem.

Even if it is the toughest of all the stages, Titan Monarch is not a bad stage. The bosses on the other hand.... Haven't beaten Robotnik, though. (He's still Robotnik to me dammit!) Too bad losing means I have to play the whole stage again. |

I retract my statement. It is one of the worst stages simply for the fact that one of the purple mist parts near the end of stage sends you Damn near towards the beginning of act 2. Ugh..
All this being said. I love this game. All the little throwbacks to the original games whether it be enemies or stage mechanics is awesome.

Played this with a friend at a restaurant on the Switch. It's going to be one of the first games I get for that, so goooood.

You know, a lot of people say Graphics and Gameplay etc are very important and this is certainly true, however a third thing I feel is very important and sometimes gets overlooked is a really good soundtrack.
and Sega has nailed it right on the head with this one.
Godamn this tune is all kinds of good.

While it would make sense that it wouldn't considering the games that it's homaging, I wonder if Sonic Mania will get DLC sometime in the future.
I can't really see new stages, but maybe some skins for the playable characters of other Sonic characters (Amy or Shadow for Sonic, Cream or Rouge for Tails, Tikal for Knuckles).
I don't expect it, but I wouldn't mind either way.

I just hope Mania's sales are stellar - they should be at only $20. Probably, along with digital only keeping people from snagging used copies, along with Sonic traditionally selling well on Nintendo consoles. The Switch certainly doesn't mind another title in its library, so yeah, I imagine it has done well, even without seeing figures. |

Any DLC's probably going to come from PC mods.
Makes sense given the designer's origins in the fan game community.
