So I just play the Shadow episodes and I have one question...how the f*** did SEGA mess up the jumping physics in a Sonic game? Also those red star in the level can go f*** themself.

f*** Stage 25, f*** it to hell. That a example of broken level design and I had to quit because I was about to throw my Switch against the wall.

Started this today, kept thinking the game was surely going to have some sort of twist to extend the game then suddenly I'm on the Death Egg Robot. Also, f*** that battle, took thirty minutes, so many cheap deaths. Even got Eggman down to zero health in the Avatar section but because during his second defeat cutscene the Avatar fell down a hole it didn't count it.

Some big news at the Sonic panel at SXSW: Sonic Mania is being released physically as Sonic Mania Plus, with an art book, holographic package, and a usable Geneses/Megadrive slip cover. Plus will have 4 player competition mode, an encore mode which changes elements of the levels for the playthrough, and two new playable characters... Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo (Yes, seriously). Those who bought the game digitially will be able to download it an an update the same time the physical edition releases which is set for Summer 2018. The animation team from Mania will be releasing five animted shorts based on the former's opening cartoon style on YouTube over the next few months with the first getting released in a few days. There was also a small tease for a new Sonic Game which is not a sequel to any past game apparently. Looked like a racing game from what little was seen.

Should be mention that the DLC Updates is going to be free for people who already bought Sonic Mania so SEGA learn from the Super Sonic backlash from Sonic Forces.

I've always been a big fan of Mighty's design, as derivative as it is of Sonic's, and to get Ray back after 25 years is insane. Awesome news.

I am curious to see what the gameplay differences will be for Mighty and Ray. Nothing about Whitehead and company's efforts would suggest they'll be a lazy reskin, so clearly they'll have some aspect to their jump/attack that differentiates them from the classic trio.

The Geneses cover is a win Too bad they used the worst incarnation of the Genesis/MegaDrive box art template. Much better.

What I wonder is how they'll make Mighty and Ray unique compared to Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

Awesome to see Mighty back.
I always enjoyed him in the old British Sonic Comics..
Kinda hated how he seemed to get shit canned from the chaotix in later series.

I'll second those at the Q&A who were showing Silver some love.
His debut game is a bug fest, but he's really endearing in the comics. Especially Evan Stanley's Ghosts Of The Future fan series.

I kinda doubt it'll happen, but I do hope/wish they'd add in the rest of the stage transitions. Sonic Mania is a fantastic game, for sure, but it is a tad weird how it just drops transitions as you get towards the end.
Oh, and maybe replace the Oil Ocean end-boss.

Like the news, but I'd like to have seen at least two extra Zones.

Since it show Ray flying, I'm guessing he going to be a hybrid Tails/Knuckles with a ability like Cape Mario from SMW and Mighty would probably have his wall kick/jump from the Knuckles 32x game.

With Sonic Mania Plus being released in Japan, Famitsu magazine has a preview which seems to suggest: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Ray and Mighty's DLC campaign takes place after the main story given the wreckage of the Hard Boiled Heavies: Also may have some new stages, or at the very least new stage variations for Encore Mode.

Yeah, Ray's glide does remind me of the Super Mario World cape gliding.
Mighty...hard to see if he has anything besides destroying spikes with that drop attack of his.

Don't know if people knew about this, but Sonic Generations is now backwards compatible on the Xbox One. What's funny to note is that in City Escape, there are "Have you seen me?" posters for Fang, Bark, Bean, Ray, and Mighty who of course are in (or will be in) Sonic Mania.
