It's probably just me but Cyborg just does not look good. He and Flash both have horrible looking "costumes". Just too many lines and edges, it honestly looks like they were built out of Legos. They look even worse in CGI.

Rumor making the rounds that the movie's only 120 minutes. Which I kind of hate because I'm going to be horribly disappointed when that turns out to not be true and it's actually 170 or something.

I can see it being 120 minutes actually. Probably the safest bet for its running time will be about two hours and twenty minutes which is good enough in actuality.

From someone who used to do this kind of a stuff for somewhat of a living, not really. I can understand that perception but I have reviewed films from festivals or right before release that were really good but they wanted the review out either night of the premiere or the week of release mostly because they want to have that stuff gathered up to promote in publicity and such. Yes, you have the stuff that embargoes are placed on because they’re not great but it’s more common to not even have Press screenings for the stuff that’s not as good these days because they either don’t want negative word of mouth or they know it’ll make money regardless but it isn’t really seen as sporting so to speak. Heck, I know critics who have been embargoed from talking about a few Marvel movies so it’s a widely used thing, even if you don’t quite agree with it.

Anything with a launch day or day before launch embargo strikes me as something that the producers (whether games or movies) want to get out with as little word of mouth as possible. Wonder Woman had an embargo which lifted like a week or two before it released because they realised that the reception was almost unanimously positive.

Mad Max Fury Road did that and that has a 98 percent score

They look even worse in CGI. New 52 Flash was the ruination of the Flash costume. There was never any issue with it before, but realism and Jim Lee wonkyness had to work their way in and needlessly complicate something that just worked. They bulked New 52 Cyborg up something awful, too (and this is a character that had already made it thru the '90s with some bulked up nonsense) - though they scaled things back a bit when he got his first ongoing book. Not sure if he's puffed up again since Rebirth. I think this look in the movie, which I don't even mind, is just not really knowing how to translate it to a person successfully. But hey at least they're trying though; they could go the DC TV route and just having the headgear & a leather jacket or something.

Honestly I've pretty much never thought Cyborg looked good. It's just kind of a failure of a design on a conceptual level for me - really just no matter how you present it it just looks like a cheap knockoff toy.
It kind of doesn't help that the lack of symmetry, while appropriate for the character and all, just makes it hard to put it right up alongside something timeless like the general Superman or Batman look. Probably part of why I think Grid looks way cooler because it's the same basic principal but the asymmetry of it works for the cold, inhuman nature of him.

I'm not as familiar with recent DC comic output, but as the placement of Cyborg in the Justice League ever clicked for fans? Call it lingering fandom of the animated series, but its honestly hard for me to see in as anything but a Titan.

They keep trying to make it a thing, but no one ever buys in.

You know, I didn't get this reference until I mentioned it elsewhere and found out that Thor Ragnarok's 100 minute runtime suddenly added half an hour. ......you were referring to that in your comment, yes?

Biggest problem with Cyborg is everyone both comic fans and people who enjoy other super hero media pretty much associate him solely with the Titans.

Not really and they've sort have taken away all the endearing qualities he had in animated form with the Titans and just try to portray him more in line as an even bigger boy scout than Superman I would have liked to see him and Flash be kind of the goofball squad to the team but Cyborg hasn't clicked really. I like him in Injustice storyline and how's he handled there tho

Honestly it was more just a stab at how movies in general tend to be too long these days. I've barely followed news on Thor, not planning on seeing it. Yea, Cyborg as a villain has worked because it makes him a little more "interesting" in regards to his justifications of his actions. Then again that applies to a few characters in Injustice

Grid was a complete machine, Yet he had more personality than Cyborg (Plus he looked awesome).
If they wanted a black character so much why not Firestorm (people know him now due to "Legends") or Martian Manhunter (I know he's a green alien in his base form but just have his "Human" form be a black man)
Just stop with the Cyborg push, He's dull
