Grid was a complete machine, Yet he had more personality than Cyborg (Plus he looked awesome). If they wanted a black character so much why not Firestorm (people know him now due to "Legends") or Martian Manhunter (I know he's a green alien in his base form but just have his "Human" form be a black man) Just stop with the Cyborg push, He's dull Both good answers. I'm personally partial to Steel for the position, but I think Firestorm would be a good answer to that issue, and a lot more interesting to watch than Cyborg. That or get off Hal Jordan's nuts and go with John Stewart.

Steel would work as they've done the Supes "Death" already Stewart would work as the casuals know him for JL/JLU, Hal is quite low on the GL list for me {Spoiler}- Kyle - Jessica - John - Guy - Simon - Hal
I find Hal quite boring

I find Hal quite boring I'm personally most partial to Kyle and Alan (who I think has by far the best costume of them, honestly). Hal is just dull.

Anyone asking for others again the plan in Lanterns is to have at least 2 (originally rumored 3) of Earth there. Jordan, Stewart and probably one of the newer ones like Cruz would probably be a good bet. That said outside of Justice League were they took a bunch of Hal's backstory... I always found Stewart a bit bland.

The Lanterns should be Abin Sur and Sinistro, pre Hal
Also the other issue people never address is that Cyborg is a f***ing terrible name

Honestly in general Johns is a really frustrating person for me, since I fully recognize he's done some damn good stories and is a talented guy but I don't think he's remotely fit to be the guy to build a universe around, especially since he seems to have trouble understanding a lot of characters and he has a really terrible habit of having no regard at all for the fact he's supposed to be writing within a shared universe. Has a very, "My stuff is the only stuff that matters," approach to his plotting.

I love johns from a writing standpoint and what he does for DC but his fanboying for certain characters can grate. - Cyborg isn't an A lister - Hal Jordan is boring - Wally West (The original one) > Barry Allen As for Martian Manhunter I think Lance Reddick would be perfect, plus he's a comic fan

I mean they are building it at the moment so having a guy with one vision in charge is generally a good idea... (well as long as they have good ideas unlike Snyder.. but that rants been done) But yeah... Geoff especially likes doing retcons for the sake of retcons in his writing some times... like in Blackest Night were he retconned something that he had already previously retconned.

The closer we get to this movie, the more I realise that despite how awesome WW was I just have no interest in this movie right now. I'll definitely watch it, but don't know if I'll bother going to the theatre to see it

Then again, The Hood and The Blur are still better names than Cyborg.

You woulda told me as a kid a JL movie was coming out I'd be like "take my money!" And I just don't care about this. It looks kinda good, and maybe it'll be really successful. Maybe D.C. has burned me one too many times, I'm just not hyped for it.

The real issue is the concept that superhero teams somehow have to be restricted to one or two minority members.
I don't say that to pass judgment on any character's merit or anything like that, but it does speak to a larger issue regarding fair representation in the media.

Yea, truthfully it shouldn't matter whether the team has one minority or a dozen but there def needs to be a medium in there somewhere where you aren't putting the character in there as a token gesture (I hate that shit) but more so the character fits into the scheme of things and they belong where the focus isn't on there skin but their abilities

I'm still trying to figure out why the Justice League isn't fighting Starro in their first team-up.
