"You look like Fonzie made the Negro Leagues!" I like to imagine Silky Johnson has been defending his crown as Hater of the Year for 14 straight years.

I didn't watch, cause I knew there'd be protest show elements. What I heard proved me right. I've taken an indefinite leave from Twitter, and tip toe around Facebook because I can't escape that anywhere. Yeah I know SNL always sent up current events, but for the last year or so it's been moreso like the "S" now stands for not Saturday, but Soapbox. TV should help one escape from the strife of the world around us. As it is, I only have been watching SNL when my friends have it on for this reason. I'm not going to get into anything lock-worthy, and I'm actually middling in political tastes, but I said before that the Trump stuff vs. anyone else comes off like a WWE DVD: they'll make passing jokes about the candidates they like, but then totally bury the ones they don't. Like how talking heads will chuckle at the Gobbledygooker, then go on and on about WCW stupidity by comparison. That's my issue. There's not even an attempt to look anything close to balanced this season. It's really off putting....and this is coming from someone who has no love for either side. It's all about being a caricature and emphasizing the most obvious parts of the candidates. With Hillary, they emphasized her over-preparation during the debates and hammered the emails pretty hard in the cold open right before the election, though you could make an argument that was more scathing toward the media's coverage of everything, I suppose. I think part of the issue is that Trump just so happened to have things come out and things that he said that are more extreme and ripe fore caricature. Plus Hillary's personality is kinda plain. If the candidate had been Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden they could've played it over the top more.

I just hope that now the elections over, we get back to normal, with the political stuff relegated to just the cold opening and Weekend Update. Getting back on track, the Inside SNL sketch was kind of funny and i wouldnt mind seeing it again.

It hasn't been the same post-Seth, and I just like the special guests, usually. And I hope your right, otherwise this will be my personal jump the shark era for SoapboxNL (like the ones to whom the show ended in the '70s or '90s or name your favorite era...)

While Americans look forward to a turkey this coming Thursday, SNL fans are hopeful tonight's episode ISN'T a turkey. Kristen Wiig hosts, The XX guests musically.

Won't be the last cameo tonight. Yeah, if SNL is Wrestlemania, the 2005-2010 cast is the Attitude Era stars to the current cast's uh...current era stars.

Shawn Mendes? What they couldn't get Rosa Mendes? To do both? I'd rather see that.
