I was expecting Vanessa Bayer's poetry teacher character. This is a welcome surprise.

On the whole, that was a pretty great show.
Lin-Manuel Miranda was a lot of fun and his monologue was terrific.
Weekend Update was good and I enjoyed the substitute teacher sketch. Stranger Things sketch was pretty great, too.

Not that I care or anything, but the political (and racial) stuff is too one sided still. I mean, 3 Trump sketches in one show got a bit old. Surprised no sendups on Suicide Squad, unless you stretch things and count Margot playing a Stockholm-syndrome girlfriend (if only they said her boyfriend was a comedian instead of a puppeteer...) And Hammond as announcer still sucks :-) One of the only times I'll go near politics, but the Hillary stuff felt like an undercover cop punching a friend to prove themselves while whispering "You don't know me, ok"! It's kind of like a WWE documentary, where they'll quickly admit the Gobbledy Gooker was stupid, then go on and on about the Shockmaster and other WCW Wrestlecrap. I mean, I don't identify with one of the two main parties, and Trump is far from perfect. But four segments burying him seems a bit too much. Has any other political figure got so much attention per episode in the past? I'll shut up before we get the lock here.

Has any other political figure got so much attention per episode in the past? The thing is, SNL was making fun of Donald Trump LONG before this election. Like decades. He's not some unknown Senator from Iowa who's just stepped into the spotlight and is now getting both barrels. If someone you've disliked for years was at the center of the world's attention, would you go easy on them?

1. waste of a tina fey cameo 2. jimmy fallon was awful in this I've said this for years. He always cracks during his scenes and it was obvious he was reading from the cue cards. He's a little more tolerable on his show and in the Universal Studios tram, but I want him as far away from AMP as possible unless it's The Barry Gibb Talk Show.

Melissa Villasenor is low key stealing Sasheer's spot. She's been on more this season as a featured player than a few main cast members.

Can't wait to see what they do with this week's debate/the Ken Bone phenomenon.

In a little under 2 hours, we'll be treated to an all-new SNL with host Emily Blunt (I hope they make a sketch about her role in THE WOLFMAN!) and musical guest Bruno Mars. Also, debate stuff.

Bobby as Ken Bone was basically the free speech on SNL Political Bingo.
