The one in my town is horrid. And with it being pretty much the only place to shop you are stuck with it.
1.About a year ago ran in to get some ice cream. Went to the cashier with the shortest line. She rang me up ,I swiped my credit card. And she realized she was out of receipt paper. So she calls for a manager. After waiting almost 15 minutes the manager, who looks like Norbit, slowly waddled her way over. By now my ice cream is half melted and of course they don't have anymore of that flavor.
2.I had been up all night. Mostly cause I had a doc appointment at 8am. I go see the doc and get a new script for something to help me deal with the pain of my migraines. Goto Walmart and as normal they got 10 people behind the pharmacy counter and only one person is waiting on people. While the rest stand around chatting or messing with their phones. I get told my meds will be ready in 20 minutes.
So I went off to electronics to look at the new DVDs since it was Tuesday. None of the new dvds are out. I see all the electronics clerks and the manager at the checkout. And they are just talking about random stuff. I go over and ask when the new DVDs will be put out. Get told "They will be out when they are out". After 20 minutes have passed I go back to get my meds get told it will be at least another 30 minutes.
I walk around the store. Go back to electronics and again all the workers and the manager are standing around doing nothing. I go over and mention how there is a few DVDs coming out today that I want to buy.Get told again "They will be out when they are out." And I snapped "Well maybe if y'all did some work instead of standing around they would be out. I know that they are suppose to be on the shelves no later than 5am Tuesday morning. When I get home I am calling and complaining." Then left to go get my meds. Get told again it will be another 30 minutes. I sit down on the bench and wait another 30 minutes, and after waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes get my meds.
3.For some reason the store manager thinks it is a great idea to turn off the self checkouts and only have 4 registers open during the evening rush. So if you go in between 3pm and 9pm there will be at most 4 cashiers. And every self checkout is off.
4.They decided last year to remodel the store during teh X-mas shopping season. Yep that is a great idea.

Used to work at a walmart unloading trucks when i was 18. The area for work was almost always blocked with obstructions preventing you from setting up till nearly an hour after you started, they expected 2 53 foot long trucks packed with material to be unloaded and sorted by midnight, when the area to store the delivered material to be put out by the night shift was always blocked solid. My first boss there was the only one who gave a f*** and would go in an hour early just to get things ready and i would go with him. Eventually he got a new job and when he tried to put in a notice, they wouldnt let him so he quit outright. He got replaced by a dumbass who was always f***ing off, got pissy when i paged him to come down and do his f***ing job, and later got fired for trying to sell stolen material back to other co workers. Amazingly management couldnt quite get it through their heads the problems we had and slowly started transferring out workers or firing them. When it came time for me, i threw the f***ing wal mart badge in their faces and told them i quit

I tend to avoid Walmart whenever I can nowadays just because it's almost always a negative experience. I stick to Target for just about everything (aside from food as Walmart is, unfortunately, cheaper in that area).

I use to work at Wal-mart, for 7 years. I've seen all kinds of shit there. Nine circle of hellish things you could imagine there as I never had a single minute of peace with the people who work there and the people who shop there putting on their bullshit nonsense crap. Co-workers ranging from suck-ups, crybabies, backstabbers, pricks for a manager/s, douchebag cart bringers, young bitchy girls workers doing f*** all. Hell, they even send their young boys to stand next to the bathroom stall while you take a dump. Just shows you how lazy and useless they are, the co workers. I use to bring out pallets of merchandise, I worked in the grocery department and not one person there on the job didn't help me, seven feet high of stuff on one skid. Too many chiefs, no Indians. That's how their business always is. I got "terminated" because of my disability as I refused to partake in their dramas. The managers put the latch of the lock on the door before they inform you when they fire you. They were afraid to say "You're Fired" to my face. So much for Wal-Mart's dignity. Sheesh.
F*** Wal-Mart on Kelsey Drive, St.John's, Newfoundland.
But in my last few years there, my patience was running out so I turned the tables around and see how they like it. Being snippy to them just how they were to me from the beginning when I started my tenure there. Un-welcomed arms. Yeah, it was all a work because I couldn't take it no more because I was the one who didn't give a shit anymore because of them. I guess it was "Fire playing with fire" for me. Their loss, not mine.
I didn't mind working there. I'm deaf but the problem was that they tried to make me feel inferior, saying things like "he's shy" but I'm not. I was always a loner, an introvert, and that's something that they should've understand. Sad of those there who didn't because I'm old school no-nonsense when it comes to working.

The electronics department at the nearby Walmart is almost always devoid of associates. More than once I've had to hunt people down to get into the game case.
Having worked cashier myself, I find that I am more tolerant of technological screwiness but less tolerant of plain stupidity. Last time I went there, the cashier wasn't paying too much attention and tried to put the next person's stuff on my receipt, despite the next person having put one of those separator bars between hers and mine. "Oh, is this yours?" Uh, no, and if you'd been paying attention instead of just being grabby, you'd have known that.
Ended up accidentally leaving some stuff behind, so my mom called them...and Customer Service hung up on her. Putting my mother on hold or hanging up on her is a cardinal sin. She called back and the lady who'd originally transferred her over heard about it and was really apologetic. Turned out that, instead of waiting to see if we'd be back, the cashier morons decided to just put the stuff back on the shelf. Once we returned, Customer Service was surprisingly cool about the whole thing and we didn't have to spend much time there.
I've stood in line and witnessed a cashier at a different Walmart spend several minutes staring intently at the pricetag on a shoebox. Once I realized what the holdup was, I got in a different line and was done before the people who'd been in front of me got up to the shoebox starer.

I've worked at Walmart for 5 years. In that time, I've worked in three different stores and have held about 6 different positions.
Yeah, people can be total buttplugs on both sides.

I always try to avoid as much as possible. Not because I rather support other retail stores or lesser evil corporate stores, it's because my nearest Walmart has the most bat shit amount of people. Like a guy who thought it would be funny to pepper spray everyone in the store or muggings or security guards practicing there MMA movesets on shop lifters or a guy threatening to kill himself. It's weird like it's a nice area of town but for some reason it's the hoodest Walmart. Also worst of all it doesn't have a self checkout Who the hell mugs someone at a Wal-Mart?

Two year now that I've ever step a foot in any of the following Wal-marts in the big city St.John's and in Mount Pearl. Places like that are best left in the past for me, it was like enduring through Hell on bad days there and enduring Purgatory on so/so days there. Never a day of bliss there I can tell you, there's no such thing as "Heaven" working in Wal-mart.
Working there felt like you always had to watch your back and look over your shoulders for any weirdness, curl your hands in fists and grit your teeth that you can smell the bullshit coming a mile away. Wal-mart's perception in business is f***ed up.

At first I thought my last job was full of way too overly friendly people. Employees and customers. Then I realized that's just how it is. My job prior to it was Walmart. Any job you'll have besides Walmart is refreshing. I had a few jobs before Walmart in the past that were okay. The latest one I have now is really good, nice pacing, better money and the people who are tolerable to work along with.

You hate Wal-Mart? Well, Wal-Mart hates you!
Then again, that was probably quite obvious to anyone who has shopped there in the last decade or so.

If I ever go to America, I want to visit a Walmart to see how much it lives up to it's white trash name.

The local wal-mart is remodeling. They hired 30+ temps without drug testing them. So in the first week alone they already fired one guy for stealing and had to call the cops because a few others got involved in a 5 on 1 parking lot beat down.

If I ever go to America, I want to visit a Walmart to see how much it lives up to it's white trash name. Over here in South Korea we have Lotte Mart. I can only speak for the one in Jeongeup, but it's nice with escalators that you take your cart on to ride up and some kind of 4D ride inside. Only weird thing is they're closed on some Sundays.
