I'm happy for Jimmy Garoppolo, I saw the guy play all the time while I went to Eastern Illinois. Pretty much saw most of his senior year breaking all of Tony Romo's passing records. Probably the only time I ever got excited for College Football. So he's the only Patriot that I'm probably ever gonna root for.

After this week I'm inclined to believe that The New England Patriots will never lose their damned division, what a shit show... The 2002 realignment that moved the Colts from the AFC East to the AFC South basically turned what had been an interesting unpredictable 5-team division into the least suspenseful. The Patriots may not miss the playoffs until the 2020s.

Nobody should blame the Patriots for being successful. Blame the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins for largely being incompetent in the past 15 years.

The front offices of the other 3 teams have seemingly made every wrong move possible over the last 15 years. As for last night: I expected them to lose and quite handily at that. But Jimmy G played great and the defense did their jobs for the most part. If I'm Arizona, this one hurts

And any way the Colts could win was undone by a safety.
This team is gonna suck. Why did they get extensions?

Well, if you told me Alex Smith (on my bench) would score more fantasy points than AARON FREAKING ROGERS (who I started)....I would have laughed. But low and behold, that has happened. How many times did that happen to me last year, though? I swear, every other week, Cousins completely outdid Rodgers on my team and I left him on the bench.

I'll try not to be too obnoxious this year. Still that statement of not "blaming" them is odd to me with said scandels

Still that statement of not "blaming" them is odd to me with said scandels I'm not a total honk. I can sit here and admit that they push things to the edge of the rules at times, and yeah, spygate happened for which they paid a price. Deflategate is tricky. Do I think the might have done *something*? Sure. Was it actually *proven*? No,(unless you ignore 9th grade science like the Wells report did) However, there are more instances of people claiming that they did things and being proven false than there are the other way. (Tomlin with the headsets, Harbaugh god knows how many times, the erroneous report about a taped walkthrough of St Louis before SB36, etc) The point I'm making is that while I get the perception you have, it's downright silly to suggest that the Patriots haven't generally been heads and shoulders better than the rest of the AFC east (and the AFC in general) based on simply being more talented and better coached.

Nobody should blame the Patriots for being successful. Blame the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins for largely being incompetent in the past 15 years. Exactly. It's the same thing when people get all pissy about Lebron always winning the East. Get mad at your team for not being good enough to stop him.

When it comes to the AFC, if you want to blindly place a bet on the Broncos, Pats or Steelers to make the Super Bowl you historically got a 50 percent chance to win no matter what the prognosticators say. 50 SBs, 24 appearances for those 3 teams. Quit blaming those teams and blame the other 13 teams in the conference to get their shit together. Bengals window might be closing to step up and the Jags and Raiders appear headed in the right direction but it's not those 3 teams fault the rest of the organizations have their heads up their asses.

Cincinnati has nobody to blame but themselves. Had they done the logical thing and fired Marvin Lewis several playoff chokes ago, and/or changed the undisciplned culture of that team then maybe they'd have gotten further. That team has been far too talented to have the wretched playoff/big game record that they do

Here's my take on the Patriots and the accusations: Do they usually have great talent on the team? Quite frequently, they are one of the most talented teams. Are they well coached? Absolutely they are. Even players that are massive pains in the asses elsewhere get molded into model teammates who give maximum effort. They often have the best plans to win any tough game. That is top notch coaching. Should they be a contender every year? With that coach and those players? Absolutely! Do they appear to try to go beyond the rules to gain even more, quite unnecessary advantages? Absolutely! Does that breed paranoia about their tactics? Again, Absolutely! Sometimes that paranoia is even rooted in fact (for instance, apparently headset failures, while they occur elsewhere, is far more frequent in Foxboro than other stadiums, though that necessarily isn't the team's fault as their headsets frequently fail there too). That's not even touching Spygate and Deflategate (though, to be fair I honestly believe about half of the footballs that failed inspection were initially properly inflated, but that still leaves some legitimate screwing around with psi). Lastly, would I be willing to let bygones be bygones with the team despite all of that? Perhaps, but to me the dealbreaker is the way that many of their fans go out of their way to be obnoxious trolls. I stopped going to Colts fan forums simply because 75% of all the posts on those forums are Patriots fans spending their days being dicks to fans of my favorite team on websites devoted to my favorite team. You want to scream for hours on end that your team is awesome? Do so on websites dedicated to your team and let me enjoy talking about my team with other fans of my team. To those dicks I just have to say, "Guess what? Tom Brady winning championships is his accomplishment, not yours. I'm a fan of sports teams as well, but I'm not so delusional to act as though their successes reflect positively on me in any manner."
