You know what the worst part of this fight is?
I've had Toni Basil's Mickey stuck in my head ever since Mickey Gall's walkout. It's just such a sweet entrance and I cannot deal.

Punk was embarrassingly bad. Looked like a random fan dropped in the octagon. When people post "do you even lift bro" Punk is who they picture.

He's a dickhead, he got his ass kicked. Sideshow's over, folks. But please, let's not start campaigning for him to return to the WWE, now. That would benefit no one. It would benefit me because I like to see good wrestling and good promos and Punk is excellent at both.

And here's further proof of White saying that Punk's next fight shouldn't be in the UFC. Dana White looks like the offspring of Batista and a sack of potatoes.

I know it was only vs Punk but this Gall kid for all we know could be a defending world champion at some point, he's only 24 and is now 3-0 and Punk just happened to get him in his first fight.
He's looked good in all three fights now. Punk lasted longer than his 2nd opponent anyway.

He'll try acting or writing or reality tv or something, I wouldn't even rule out him getting into politics at some point he's just too restless to spend time at home counting his money and watching hockey. I doubt we'll see him wrestle again but he'll remain in the public eye and this fight may have even helped his brand if he works it right.

So apparently MMA fans aren't bashing Punk too much? Some even lauding his efforts?
It's like CM Punk went out and died on a cross for the sins of pro wrasslin fans. Maybe now the UFC won't have to keep bashing wrestling? Ehhhh probably not.

I'd imagine a lot of MMA fans are as defensive about their fandom of a fringe "sport" as pro wrestling fans ("It's not just guys beating each other up!"/"I hate when people call it fake!"). If an outsider like Punk just waltzed in and had an easy go of it, it would shake their faith in the product they love (Obviously, Lesnar is on a whole different level than Punk due to his actual amateur wrestling experience). Punk getting his ass kicked proves that their sport can't be done with anyone with fists and their heroes are indeed giant bad-asses, brah. So the majority is grateful for Punk being the example of that by getting his ass handed to him.
It's sort of like celebrity involvement in wrestling. If they don't care or worse, treat it as a joke, they're hated with a passion (Dennis Rodman, Jeremy Piven, etc). But if they show respect and commitment to dis business (Lawrence Taylor, Hugh Jackman, etc), they're aces forever with the fandom. Punk was an LT, not a Rodman.

Punk moved toward Gall like a video game character. Like, if you just hold the trigger right on the UFC video game, that's exactly how the character would move. Taht was my exact thought process seeing that. I want Punk to come back to wrestling. I don't want him to come back to WWE. Like I would rather see Punk use his name value and money to elevate another promotion into being a viable option for other wrestlers rather than coming back to WWE only to be the very thing he was crusading against. 1. I don't see Punk bringing his money to any company, he's not a complete moron. 2. there are very few wrestling companies on the planet that are going to be willing or able to pay what Punk feels is worth his while to come out of retirement. He still obviously has some affection for ROH. I wouldn't be amazed to see him put in some sort of guest role there.

Yep, it was THAT episode of "Friends", as most people probably thought it would be.
But if he fulfilled his ambition of getting savagely beaten in less than 3 minutes, then good for him.

I'm old enough to remember when Punk was the best in the world.

You know... he failed miserably, but at least he tried. He wasn't just spouting hot air; he went, he trained, and he gave it an honest effort, even if he got his ass whooped.

I'm sooo happy he got destroyed but kinda disappointed it wasn't by a flashy Mashidaesque scissor kick in the face that would have hit the 10 millions views' mark on youtube.

I didn't expect him to actually fight. He tried and got paid $2 million for it. Grats to the guy for making bank.

I wonder what it's like waking up on Saturday knowing you're going to get wrecked on a PPV. Are you nervous? Or actually calm because it's a foregone conclusion? Or do you allow yourself fleeting confidence that you might actually win?

Booker T, MVP, Stevie Ray and Bruce Prichard commenting on the fight. Booker T with the realness. Ah Stevie Ray. Your Harlem Heat Promos are still gold(i'm stealing the squeeze.) And Booker with the hard truth as always.
