I do wonder if some developers would have been hesitant to put versions of their games on this when they had Remasters out, so as to not compete with themselves. He notes Spyro and Crash, though I think Symphony of the Night is another that would have been an obvious choice, otherwise.
That being said, this lineup still is underwhelming as hell, and this makes it even more anemic.

I have to imagine Jim will be doing a mini-video about this news sooner than later. At the behest of US senators, the Federal Trade Commission is going to start an investigation into loot boxes and how they're targeted towards children and if they properly educate parents on such things. variety.com/2018/gaming/news/ftc-loot-box-investigation-1203038178/Also I had no idea Brian Crecente was writing for Variety now.

the thing with the PSClassic for me is that any of the PS1 games I'd want to play on it are already downloaded on my PS3's virtual console. the only one I DON'T have that I'd want is Revelations: Persona.

We've all heard the story. "AAA" game comes out, "AAA" game is a critical and commercial success, "AAA" game disappoints its publisher for failing to meet expectations.
When you pull back and see just how often this dance is performed, it paints the picture of a panicked and desperate industry, a rotten swan kicking its decaying legs frantically across a poisoned swamp. Because that's what it is.

The problem with piracy is the measures employed to combat it showcase utter contempt for the paying customers.
This is something Ubisoft once directly acknowledged, before tanking the performance of Assassin's Creed Odyssey with a double layer of DRM.
Denuvo, meanwhile, is embraced by the game industry despite a laundry list of problems and failures. Let's look at why Denuvo is rubbish.

Curious what Jim Sterling will say about it. Also, guess this will make the copyright deadlock slightly more difficult to pull off. Pretty sure he can splice up more Chains Of Love this way. It's literally the first thing he does~!

Capcom has decided to embarrass Street Fighter V with ads, or "sponsored content" as they're calling it.
Today, let's talk about that, give a brief history of product placement and ads in games, before having a bit of a whinge about the potential future of ad-support videogame garbage.

My favorite is the placement of the Capcom Pro-Tour logo on one of the skulls on Dhalsim's necklace.

Pre-order Mountain Dew AMP Game Fuel, and get pre-access to The Division 2 beta!
I remember back when I could drink caffeinated beverages when they had the original Game Fuel, and this is really just extra crummy AMP energy drinks with artificial fruit flavors. And you have to buy 12-count cans.

So it's come to this: freaking energy drink pre-orders.

Only a Bethesda game could be affected by a Y2K bug 19 years after that problem became obsolete.
