So if TNA gets into trouble with Billy Corgan does that mean we can start a campaign to stream Smashing Pumpkins songs?

I always thought Nelly wasn't that great to begin with so I'm climbing aboard the "I don't owe him a damn thing" train.

Yeah it was hyperbole but it just back up the fact that I don't owe him anything because I don't care about his music. I find this whole "you owe him" statement really f***ing disgusting. Like forgot those charity workers, firemen, doctors and people who helped raise you. No apparently I owe some f***ing tax dodging idiot rapper

He wasn't smart with his money and now is in deep crap. How about instead of doing this instead people donate money/time helping out all the people in south Louisiana who got wiped out by the flood...Oh wait none of them wrote a crappy by catchy song.

A random person came up with the idea to get him some money that won't cost his fans anything. All they have to do is listen to his music on Spotify, a free service that a lot of people are already using. The idea to help a musician is to simply listen to his music. How is this so bad?

You don't like the music? Okay. You don't want to give him your money? Nobody asked you to.

200,000,000+ is quite a challenge. Can the same person stream it more than once or something?

All I was saying is there is much much better causes to donate to than Nelly.I got a pile of friends in south LA that lost either everything or almost everything. To me they deserve some help more than a rapper that didn't manage his money right. But he is a celeb and made a catchy song so he will end up getting more money than people that really need it.

Call it stupid or whatever, sure, but it's a little weird to blame Nelly. Also, I know it's been said a couple of times, but I feel like it needs repeating based on the negativity in this thread: You're not actually paying money; the only thing you'd be doing is streaming a song. That requires literally no financial input on your part as Spotify is free on PC. I don't even care whether anyone does/doesn't participate in this, but let's not act as if we're forking over money for the guy's legal bills.

"How about instead of doing this instead people donate money/time helping out all the people in south Louisiana who got wiped out by the flood". The "instead of" has strong implications. Again though, they aren't asking anyone to donate money to Nelly. That's not a thing. They're asking people to listen to his music on a service that pays him for people listening to his music. So, if you like his music, listen to it. If you don't, then don't. This isn't a call around the world to form a Spirit Bomb so Goku can save the planet. It's literally just asking fans of his music to listen to his music. It has abso-freaking-lutely nothing to do with charity/donations and you're the one that tried to compare the two. I've got friends in dire straits too - everybody on this planet has their own battles to fight. But just because one person has it worse doesn't mean someone else doesn't have it bad. If you don't want to listen to the music to support him, that's your prerogative. I'm not. I don't particularly care for his music one way or the other. Again, this isn't a GoFundMe or anything like that. If you want to listen to his music to help him a teensy-bit (we're talking fractions of a penny here) then do so. If you don't, then don't. But I'm not down with slagging him or his fans off. It's not like he's out there begging for money, this isn't from him.

I don't see why people are so pissed about this. Its not like you can't donate to another charity while listening to a Nelly song in the background. There aren't any hit squads going door to door, looking thru search histories, and executing people who don't click on a Nelly song. You won't go to prison for not listening to a Nelly song. There isn't a payroll tax taking ten percent of you paycheck for Nelly. It is just a harmless attempt by fans to help out an artist they like. nothing more and nothing less.

Maybe because hes dumb with money and not paying his taxes and then people tell me that I "owe him". But yeah my anger mainly comes from that statement made by the fans Also this is a damn forum where we spout our stupid opinions i can criticize something if I want to.

Also is Jerk island where nelly keeps his offshore bank account?
