I live month to month in terms of paying bills but I'll be sure to make helping a guy who made and squandered MILLIONS my top priority. Jesus, people are f***ing ridiculous I'm ridiculous because I want to support someone I'm a fan of? Thats not what he was saying.

I'm in on streaming some Nelly. Even his terrible Suite/Sweat CDs brought me a lot of laughs back in the day from cracking on him with my friends. I don't know how many times me and my buddy mocked Tim McGraw's portion of that "Over and Over Again" song. The outrage on the first page is also good for a few laughs. Granted the "you owe him" line from the author was dumb, but acting like helping out a celebrity in financial trouble is some kind of insane deed... I don't know what to tell you. I'm streaming Spotify with the sound off while I'm doing other things... I'm hardly breaking my back here. Aww, Sweat/Suit was my favorite Nelly album(s). So I guess you could say that you haven't broken a Sweat?

I don't get the outrage. A fan suggests we can support Nelly by listening to his songs on Spotify for free. It's not like Nelly is begging us to give him money or were actually giving away our money.

At this point, I don't even give a f*** about this campaign. I'm streaming this because it's a banger even in 2016.

For me it is the "you owe him" and it isn't like this is something he couldn't prevent. Pay your taxes,if you can't figure out how to do that hire someone to do it.
I just rather help out people that didn't cause their problem.

It's the "you owe him" part people are taking offense with. Pretty much. "Hot in Herre" is literally the only song of his I've ever heard, so I'm pretty sure I don't owe the dude anything. Granted, I accept that as I'm not a fan the message isn't necessarily applicable to me, but I also find the idea that his fans owe him anything after already making Nelly rich through record, merchandise, and ticket sales pretty damn laughable. Sure, it's noble for fans to want to help him out, but at the same time I don't think he's really in much danger of going hungry and losing his home if he just pays what he owes.

And frankly, if people have truly taken what I said that literally, I'm surprised. Although I do think he's far more talented than he's been given credit for in this thread.
