Ya know..I figured my taxes wrong last year and ended up owing about $900. Because lots of you have "liked" my posts, why not go ahead and GIVE ME SOME f***ING MONEY!?! Nelly is a little bitch doing a bitch move. Pay your damn taxes or serve your time. I hate how nobody feels they should be responsible for their actions anymore. Same bullshit I've seen in 12 step meetings(Mind you not all 12 steppers are like this...) "Hi, I'm Rick and SOCIETY has made me an alcoholic." Read the post. This isn't Nelly doing this. This is a fan of his SUGGESTING. Not demanding, not even asking, really, just saying "Hey, feel like doing something nice for a musician you're a fan of?". I really don't understand this vitriol. He's not personally trying to crowbar your wallet open and snatch a c-note, dude.

Actually, for years of crappy music, I'd say Nelly's current financial status is karmas way of paying us back.

One of these days I have to research how big stars get into tax trouble. Are there various reasons? Is it just that they didn't want to pay the big sum that April? Because, like when someone wins a million dollars, they get all of that million dollars, and it's not until the next January-April where they have to pay almost half of it to Irwin. But until then, they're sitting on a cool mil, and I would guess it would be easy to lose your head and spend a giant chunk of it. Is that how most people get into tax trouble, or are there other reasons perhaps? Bad investments. Spending money on their entourage. Spending money on immediate family. Spending money on distant family and friends who have suddenly come back into their life now that they're big.

The band who deserve respect and support today, is a little band from the UK, called Bolt Thrower, who today, after thirty years as a highly respected band, and on the one year anniversary of the death of drummer Martin Kearns, called it a career.
No trendy hashtags, no hype from corporate radio, no grammies or VMAs, no chance at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Just thirty solid years of high quality heavy metal. So high quality, that their last performance in the USA, at Maryland Deathfest two years ago, sold out in less than 15 minutes.
You owe Bolt Thrower.

Why would anyone want this man's music played again? Let alone more than once.
That joke about my HUGE dislike of the dude's music aside...meh. I'm sure he'll get enough people to rally. And if they do, then good on them for helping a guy that entertained them.
That said, maybe I'd listen once or twice since my friends and I got a LOT of mileage making fun of how the guy's music sounded to us.

Honestly, putting something as subjective as taste in music aside, what does it teach the guy to get bailed out? I went through a spending addiction when I was younger, and I had to learn the hard way by selling tons of my stuff to even make a dent in my debt. Sometimes, it's the only way to learn and grow as a person.

How the hell he got financial troubles? You'd think Nike would have him hooked up for life thanks to his promotional work for their Air Force 1 line.

He helping me get my bills paid? No? I don't owe him. In the wake of Country Grammer? Yes, you do. For what? He already got his royalties and squandered them which is how he's in this mess in the first place.

And some wonder why I'm trying to become an Accountant...
Honestly, if the author/blogger/whatever hadn't used the "you OWE him" line and went with something more..."he gave us his talent/music, let's help him out" or similar, I doubt as many people would have gotten their dander up.
(Or, Nelly pays more attention to his finances. Not letting him off the hook either.)

I don't understand this. Country Grammar is one of the highest selling hip hop albums ever, and Nelly is one of the most successful rappers of the 2000's. I am pretty sure he is worth close to $100 million. So, my point is, I am pretty sure he can pay this easily. Nelly is awesome, and it is cool fans want to help, but I don't think he really needs it. He isn't broke, just the victim of some bad accounting.

He isn't broke, just the victim of some bad accounting. Out of boredom I just looked it up, and he is listed at 60 Million. Also in August, Country Grammar just got Diamond Status (10 Million albums sold including Physical and Digital). I guess it was due to that commercial that has his song in it. The only other Rap/Hip Hop albums that have done this are: MC Hammer's Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em, 2Pac's Greatest Hits Eminem's The Eminem Show The Notorious B.I.G.'s Life After Death Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2Pac's All Eyez on Me OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

He helping me get my bills paid? No? I don't owe him. In the wake of Country Grammer? Yes, you do. He released a great album 16 years ago. I don't owe him jack shit. If Nelly wants to come over help me paint my house, move some furniture or donate a kidney should I ever need one in the future, then maybe we can talk.
