And from the same Bleeding Cool link, all the granular purchasing trends that end up obscured by the focus on top 10 lists from a small, non-random sample (?).

I never pay much attention to the lists and the notes BC put out. It's only from a few stores, and the comments show where some of the owners have their own axes to grind.
The official Diamond lists are where the numbers count. And those are showing Marvel making a strong come back and DC starting to do their usual fall away after a Crisis/reboot/relaunch.
What's interesting to me is the same split that comics are seeing is the same split society in general seems to be seeing - people who feel that they are no longer being focused on anymore getting more and more disillusioned and asking for older stuff back/nostalgia, while younger people are looking to less mainstream stuff to support, but dont have the commitment to stick with it/turn out for it, or want it all now and so are supporting but via digital or collected editions.

Marvel are only making the turn-around with relaunches and new number ones, and their tricks in how to inflate their Diamond numbers have long been documented.

I see DC are following the Marvel example and price hiking their collected editions.
That'll cut what I'd planned to buy

Not many $14.99's but still a few (and Marvel abandoned that a long time ago), and the pricier books (like March's JL Breakdowns and Legionnaires) are a bit up there but not that outrageous. R-right? Heck, Breakdowns was originally planned to be a 2 TPB set - I'd imagine for $25 a pop. Now it's all in 1 book for $40....so that's savings there.

I was looking more at the 'deluxe' and omnibus editions where for the page count they are now mirroring or even exceeding Marvel, where as before they were considerably cheaper. The Absolutes have also jumped in price recently. Also, as I am in the UK, the $ price means squat to me as I have no 50% off IST etc.

I tend to focus more on the regular TPBs and not so much on the omnibii/absolutes (which I never really buy anyway). Only one I noticed was the Batman/Two-Face Deluxe HC, collecting Face to Face..........a TPB that came out several years back, apparently out of OOP now?, for double the price of the original collection. ![O_o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/browraise.png)

Here's the solits in full: www.newsarama.com/32452-marvel-comics-march-2017-solicitations.html-The Renew Your Vows solit from last month has'nt changed because of a screw-up on Marvel's part last time when they solicited March's issue ahead of time, so we're not gleeming any new information on it's next storyline until April -BC rumors were right, Peter David and Mark Bagley are confirmed as contributors to the finale of Clone Conspiracy, and will write the story that will launch the new Spider-Book

Amazing Spider-Man Newspaper Strip
Again, the daily strip writers come through for Peter/MJ fans. They arrive at the crash sight of the second thing to fall from the sky, Peter insists MJ stay in the car, but she's all "what are we waiting for?" and tags along with her man, who's left having to hold her purse Batman {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Went about as predictable as you can get...Selina turns on Bane, Ventriquilist and "naked Scarface" take out the Psycho Pirate before Bronze Tiger takes him out as well. Bane freaks out at the end and demands some Venom Superman {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Felt sorry for Frank at the end with his ex-bride rejecting a proposal to reunite.... Ah well, up next is Superman's answer to Spider-Verse...Multiplicity Cyborg {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Really? We're going there? The "I anticipated that you, Variant, would betray me so I set up a convoluted means of sneeking in a way to take control of you and redirect the boom tubes you control to deposit all of your boss' troops into the Atlantic oceon", on top of that, you have Variant's crazy risk, "Oh I intentionally got myself blown up someone thinking your top guys would use a mother box on me"
Oh, but then there's a surprise face turn from Variant, and then she's shut down, and then Vic finds out about his dad's impersonator, but TWIST, he's shut down too This issue was just nuts, a gajillion things happened in just a short number of pages. I loved it. Trinity {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Diana's turn to experiance a heart's desire as the White Mercy continues to have an effect, and she finds herself home, but ultimately rejects staying with her people since it means they will condem Clark and Bruce. A younger child version of Diana accompanies them and they face a sea serpetent, Mongul revealed as the baddie, and boy can Ivy pack one hell of a punch on Lois. Ivy does have a heart though, as she pushes Jon out of the way of Lois' truck before she can mow Ivy over
