So bummed about this Hickman news. Sounds like he wanted to get the ball rolling on working towards an endgame and no one else was having it. I followed him to his Substack so I hope he does good work on that, I need my fix, but it just sucks knowing that a lot of things HoX/PoX set up are likely to never be answered.

It's a bit like the Clone Saga at Marvel...they had an endgame in mind but Marvel just pressed ahead with it because at the time it was making them money, and by the time it didn't, trying to clean up after it was a nightmare, it took them three years and JMS' run to recover from it. Speaking of clones, Marvel dropped the November solicitations for Amazing Spider-Man as Ben Reily's second stint as Spidey continues, pitting him against Morbius, Kraven, and a new villain called Obsidian Star. www.marvel.com/articles/comics/ben-reilly-morbius-kraven-amazing-spider-man-beyond?linkId=128026693

You don’t even need to go that far historically, they did it with his Avengers run that should have went towards something bigger than just “we put some popular Ultimate Universe characters into the main Marvel universe”.
Yes, I know, New 52, but there was nothing else all that (and stuff like killing a bunch of Spider-Men and Deadpools in mini-series at the time) was leading to.
He’s at least not leaving Marvel so I look forward to him setting up big things for the Spider-Man books or whatever and having it go nowhere.

Tynion begins his weekly series of 'tell all' essays about 5G on his newsletter, begining with when he found about 5G, and that it would bring to an end the 'fifth era' of the core Batman continuity that had been established by Grant Morrison and Scott Snyder. Tynion saw his pitch as an opportunity to close out all five eras that he had solidified in his own headcanon. Next week, we will learn in detail what the pitch was, and what the office's reaction to it was. bleedingcool.com/comics/when-bleeding-cool-found-out-about-5g-it-was-still-news-to-creators/

Amazing Spider-Man this week {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'll try to simplify this
1. The reason Harry's been a tortured soul for his entire life in publication, and the reason Norman is insane, is because Norman struck a deal with Mephisto when Harry was a kid. He exchanged Harry's soul for success in buisness. Mephisto is responsible for the creation of the Green Goblin, the 'deal of the millennium'
2. In the present, Norman journeys to a house stationed in Europe where he finds an artificial intelligence back-up copy of his son's brain waves as well as a lab equipped with two cloning tanks
3. Carlie Cooper and Post-OMD Harry Osborn discover Kindred's catacombs are directly next to Carlie's morgue, Harry finds his own corpse.
4. Kindred tells Mary Jane he's not 'entirely' who he's claimed to have been, and reveals his 'true' identity to her, which shocks her

Every time I heard about the newest storyline in the Spidey titles I think "Yea they should have ended the series back around issue 100."
That is the major drawback to US comics. Nothing can ever progress that far forward cause they have to keep people like Spidey and Batman the same age for decades.

f*** that noise. Norman Osborne is a loser and it's all his own fault. Bet they try turning him into some dime store Lex again 😮💨

So I have a weird, comic-related question and wasn't sure where to go with it. The usual sources I'd check out for this aren't giving me anything. Figured I'd throw it up on this thread and see if anybody can help me. I'm re-watching Gotham lately and I'm up to early season two. In one of the episodes they talk about the five families who found Gotham City - the Waynes, the Dumas (the Galavans), the Kanes, the Elliots and the Crownes. Now I'm familiar with all of those names from the comics except the last one, the Crownes. Did Gotham just make the name up and then do nothing with them (which would be a very Gotham thing to do)? Or are they from the comics?

Lots of rumours swirling that after we just had Tim Drake revealed as bisexual, another DC character is going to come out {Spoiler} allegedly, Jon Kent, the current Superboy who was the 10 year old Bendis aged up to 17, is going to come out in his series by Tom Taylor. The rumours started when Ethan van Sciver did some rabble rousing comics gate thing saying he'd been told it was happening and revealed a bunch of other stuff, most of which has now either been announced or set up. So it seems likely.
I am in support of such a development, even if it does start up the whole Jon/Damien shipping again.

Well, look at it this way {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}It might lead to more age appropriate Jon/Damien fan art since they're both in their mid-teens now.
Speaking of 'shipping, Joshua Williamson's Robin title has me really wanting Rose Wilson and Damien paired together.

Kindred revealed? (again?) {Spoiler}https://www.cbr.com/amazing-spider-man-73-gwen-resurrection/
The full preview also shows Peter is transported to Paris
My guess is... yes, there's a grey-suited Kindred confronting Peter here, while the one (Gwen) confronting MJ is purple. My best bet? It's Gabe and Sarah Stacy, the Osborn twins, who will be revealed to have been created in a cloning lab by Harry's A.I. unit. I'll throw this into the hat too, there's never been a 'resurrected' Harry, it's all been clones and Chameleon agents.
