When I did the Charlotte vs Lana match in Southpaw, the first thing you're asked to do is give Lana a gut kick. I did three of this kicks and I wasn't getting a completed notification to go on to the next spot, so I ended up having to restart the match.

I love that in WWE games, they do the "ONE FALL" gimmick but in actual WWE, they stopped because the audience dared to have fun. Oh but when I say this exact statement but with "one fall" replaced with "horrifying amounts of blood" I'm a weirdo |

I won without doing all the objectives, I don't think they really matter. |

So when is the patch to fix the DLC? Probabaly when the Empire of Tomorrow DLC comes out. Which will require another patch to fix, which has a 50/50 chance of never coming before 2K21 gets announced. |

Looks like the Southpaw DLC was just an attempt to make a knock off GLOW DLC... but looking at it on nL’s video it looks like the makers had fun with it.
Got a laugh with the ladder that ends with: A Winner Is You
Shame you can only unlock parts for the Southpaw originals... could of had a three faces of Daniel Bryan match.

Side note: I have high hopes for RetroMania Wrestling, just for the simple hope that the actual gameplay is fun. It's been the longest time since a wrestling game came out and the fun factor was 5.0/5.0 worthy, at least I feel.

It really is obnoxious how much 2K and VisCon hamstrings you with these DLCs. You can't change the characters it gives you, you can't use their outfit pieces, and the other characters you have to make on your own, using up CAW slots, and even then you don't have the majority of the call names and entrance stuff they use, you have to put it all together on your own. Ugh.

Like, ok, I get wanting to do what they did with the women for this DLC but...none of it even felt like something Southpaw would do. Not even the fact it was basically “GLOW” characters but also, you have Natalya there and you could have had her play Debbie Desperado being the heel with Mr Mackelroy annoyed there wasn’t a women’s division.
I know, too much to expect but...man...man.

Also, I need to get some measurements, but just looking at the pool that was around ringside, I'd estimate it was about a half mile across and about as deep as the Marianas trench. When they pointed it out during the nL stream, it was...jarring. All this said, I think the DLC wasn't that bad. It's an interesting concept, there's some cool parts you get from it, there were some good jokes in it, and they touched some good reference points in it (Like Lance Catamaran not being there because he was focusing on being an "actor"), but again, it felt more like what the writers at VisCon THOUGHT Southpaw was like instead of what it actually was. It felt like a parody of a parody, and that's why it felt so disjointed at the end. I really have no feelings towards Empire Of Tomorrow at all, coming off of all this, it sounds like it's just gonna be Tron with WWE wrestlers, and an excuse to have everything neon'ed up like crazy. No expectations from here on out. |
