Based on how things since they came into the picture have gone, Anthem really doesn't seem any better than Dixie is. I think Anthem is using the hot dog analogy here. They don't care what goes into the weiners, as long as there's plenty of them to sell. TNA is just cheap filler they can churn out as a "must see" attraction.

I don't see Anthem putting money in TNA to turn them back into a player. They are going to do what Sinclair Media does with ROH. Give them enough money to keep the lights and get cheap network content in return. There is already another monster tv and ppv taping schedule for January 5-12. That goes with their plan of seasonal tapings to save money. Shame most of the roster is going to be injured before they half way finish the taping block.

The worse thought out of all of this is, I wonder how much, if anything, is Anthem giving to Dixie to help TNA get out of debt. If they're taking on TNA's debt, ok, that's normal business practice. But if they have any inkling to bail her out of the personal debt she's accumulated trying to keep this landfill fire going, them they're idiots. Dixie needs a wake up call, and giving her a clean start after all the garbage she's pulled is not the way to do it.

I wonder if her father, her parents, knows how Dixie has conducted business or maybe they showed her how? It is on a whole another level of deviousness and I don't think she learned that at business school. And I wonder what happened during that diner with Sting. In spite of her degree in marketing, Dixie has proved to be thoroughly incompetent at a wrestling company. An energy conglomerate requires a lot more business awareness & field understanding than a rudimentary form of entertainment. The reason why she's not a part of Panda Energy, to use your own words, is just business. Maintaining profit is difficult but its easy to blow it, & the millions this company lost would be a better outcome than the billions she'd lose if she was in charge of the energy concerns. You seem to keep siding with Dixie as this Machiavellian genius when the rest of us see her as a flaming dunderpate. Again, her involvement in this industry is a negative. The reality of Dixie lies somewhere in the middle, honestly. She is definitely an idiot who's been taken for a ride time and again by people who used her and her comapny to get what they wanted at her expense only to turn around and burn them when they left, but one thing we don't know for sure is if she allowed them to take advantage of her or not--if being f***ed with by Hogan is worth it to her if it means having the status symbol of Hulk Hogan working for her vanity promotion. But on the other side of things, we've seen time and again that Dixie is a lying, scheming scumbag who carnies her way into getting what she wants. Like in the Jeff-Karen situation, in which his secret relationship was used as a way to strip him of power within the company, get rid of his people, and give Dixie more control of the place with all her toadies in charge. Or Corgan, who was not only lied to and undermined even when they gave him presidency, but who Dixie handed a loan agreement to that her lawyers knew would be unenforceable in Tennessee so that she could get his money with none of the actual terms they had agreed upon. She's still an idiot, but she's also not a bumbling, clueless moron accidentally setting fire to everything around her and inadvertently f***ing over everyone who wants to do business with her.

Much like the repayment to Corgan, they put their name on the company and now many of the debts are equally theres, and with Dixie's, um, track record, I can see them agreeing to knock out the personal debts that are company related.

Yeah there has to be some respect given to Dixie for her villainous cunning. TNA's departure from Spike was such a mess and she actually found two more TV stations willing to give them a chance, and when they were in the throes of death she found a lead singer of a rock band that wanted to play Paul Heyman bad enough to personally invest to keep them alive long enough to find the real suitor they were looking for. She's a scumbag of a person and one of the worst "over & underachieving at the same time" wrestling promoters in history but she's crazy relentless.

Dixie Sugarbaker's relentlessness isn't doing anything but ****ing everyone else over though. Still a burger full of turds who will continue to avoid any consequences because she and the people she's tight with all have money.
I don't give credit to people for being "successful" scum.

The answer to the question of "Evil or stupid?" is "both" and insisting she's not actually a dangerous schemer but just a complete idiot is underselling the phenomenally shitty things she's done in a way that's almost giving her credit by omission.

This is a fair assessment to me. She's the worse kind of businessperson, one who is smart enough to use her connections, take advantage of people, and do whatever she can to keep her company afloat, including lying and actively denying the issues with the company, but isn't smart enough to do the things that can make their company ibetter and do what's right for her workers. She's the anti Elon Musk, or...a future world leader *cough cough*.

She's the anti Elon Musk, or...a future world leader *cough cough*. It's also worth noting that a " good" scummy businessperson would also to pick their fights and where to be scummy. You can afford a certain leverage when you have eight or nine figures and a fleet of corporate lawyers who can make sure nobody will be able to afford to touch you, but when you're running an operation like Dixie's, you really have to be smart about who you screw over. That's what made f***ing Corgan over so stupid; he's not only a person with money, but he's a person with name recognition and notability, which immediately turned the whole fiasco into a huge deal being reported on by semi-mainstream outlets. Nobody was paying any attention to Audience of One suing TNA until a month later when the Corgan stuff came out, and I'd wager shit wouldn't have gotten out if not for the legal scrutiny everyone was showing because of the eyes Corgan brought to the whole fiasco. So much damaging shit came out in those court documents and even with the settlement terms keeping Corgan from speaking about a lot of stuff going on, he was able to say things in the Observer and Insider interviews that all but said "Dixie Carter handed me a piece of paper that she knew was legally unenforceable in the state and that she would not have to honour the terms I loaned her the money under". f***ing over Jesse Sorenson was despicable, but he didn't have the means to fight back and no real platform to launch an attack on them. Corgan did. It got a whole heap of negative attention onto the product because they were f***ing over someone with an audience and a name. And so his response isn't just some jilted Facebook rant that 1,000 fans and his mom are seeing, and it actually goes to hurting the company's image further. Dixie loves f***ing people over so much that she doesn't even know how to f*** someone over properly. She's definitely not good at her job, and her scumminess manifests in ways that hold a pretty good chance of getting her into some deep shit sometimes.

She doesn't get to walk away with it after all the people she f***ed, karma is gonna get her Shame Eastern mysticism isn't real. See Jimmy Savile for more. That bastard literally f***ed hundreds of people and he got away scot-free. It is keeping her in charge of her company despite everything that's happened. If her sole goal is to keep her vanity promotion going and be at the helm for as long as possible, then she's doing exactly what she wants to do. Dixie won't stop until her fantasies of Being Somebody become reality. She won't stop until she's in this room.

But, her being stupid is much easier to digest than her being Machiavellian. Even long after Vince McMahon dies, people are still gonna point out all the crap he did. While we shouldn't glorify this devious mentality, I think some of us want to undersell it because the reality is far more sickening.

Oh, nah... I've generally been one to figure when it comes to keeping herself at the center of TNA (to the exclusion of all else), Dixie knows what she's doing. I just don't like even the small amounts of reverence some people tend to show for people like Dixie. If I had as much money as she does...with the parents she does...with the connections she has...I'm pretty sure I could toy with the lives of several people and get off scot-free too.

Based on how things since they came into the picture have gone, Anthem really doesn't seem any better than Dixie is. Considering how they lied about paying Billy and didn't until he threatened to sue them, I'd said they're just as dirty as she is. Well at this point, given how complicated all this was, we have not being provy of the whole situation. Dixie created a mess and it was basically Anthem that was given the task to clean it up. At this point Billy is paid and that's already more than what several wrestlers lived through during Dixie's regime.

By around April she'll probably have done something that really pisses off Anthem and they'll be looking to cut ties.
