"but people die all the time!" But two of my people died, too, this year. Yes, I'm just saying what people will say to debunk a 2016 curse and such...

Sad news. Haven't seen much of him recently, but will be sorely missed nonetheless.

Check him out in The Goods. Hilarious. Another part of my childhood has passed away this year. All of these great celebrities keep dying and a truly awful one became president. f*** off 2016

What the f***. I just learned yesterday one of my bosses was in a movie where he kills the kid from The Blind Side with a machete that stars Alan Thicke and now I read he died today. Damn

Several people around me have had terrible losses as well. f*** this year with a chainsaw.

Damn... I remember I used to watch his afternoon talk show "The Alan Thicke Show" after school from time to time.
I think the last real show I saw him in was "J-Pod" and he was a blast in that.
Rest in peace, sir.

RIP to a seemingly good guy. But yeah, people die every year and 2016 is no different.

But yeah, people die every year and 2016 is no different. No, this year is different because the sheer amount of people dying who were of massive prominance on a wide scale was far greater than any other year in at least three decades. It's not the same as any other year. To suggest that is silly.

Every year we have the same thread about how many celebrities we have lost and that particular year is the worst ever. We lose a lot of celebrities every year and don't think this year is any worse than the others. In 2015 we lost:
Leonard Nimoy Wayne Rogers Maureen O'Hara Robert Loggia Donna Douglas Christopher Lee James Best Joan Leslie Omar Shariff Wes Craven Geoffrey Lewis Lizabeth Scott Anne Meara Martin Milner Roddy Piper Louis Jourdan Alex Rocco Yvonne Craig

Look at the impact this year's dead have had on the world.

RIP Of course like most people I remembered Alan Thicke from Growing Pains. However, as a little kid I remembered an animal game show that I used to watch on Saturday Mornings that I would ask people about for years years about afterward, not remembering anything about it except that it was hosted by Alan Thicke, and no one I knew remembered it. Not until the advent of Youtube did I ever find out what that show was and it was called "Animal Crackups" www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MDEkfPFepM

Garry Marshall and Alan Thicke in the same year. Anybody else Paul F. Tompkins does an impression of has to be a little wary right now. RIP Mr. Thicke. I worked at the Hollywood Bowl concert venue for 3 years. Garry Marshall had his own personal box seats there. 90% of the time his guest was either Alan Thicke or Henry Winkler. When I heard about Thicke's passing earlier, I immediately thought of Winkler... Someone check on The Fonz! Anyway, it's pretty surreal to me. Two of the them gone in the same year.

I was never into Growing Pains, but Kirk Cameron isn't my cup of tea unless he's starring in comically shit films.
I did like his appearance on How I Met Your Mother.

All of these great celebrities keep dying and a truly awful one became president. f*** off 2016 To provide a less, ahem, lock-prone spin....these great and iconic celebs keep dying and we're left with ones who can't fill the void due to lack of class and talent. Not ALL of them mind you, but they're the exceptions not the rules.
