I've been seeing the phrase "palette cleanser" used here a lot for wrestling and video game-related topics, but the definition of it I see on Google is usually just for food (spelled "palate cleanser"), so I'm confused. Are there a lot of hungry people on FAN? "Palate clenser" in a meal is something to "Clear up" your taste buds between courses. Applied on the internet, it's usually a change of pace/pick me up bit of content to interrupt whatever nasty spiral the internet's in at that moment. I see "TL Clenser" on Twitter a lot, applied the same way

I'll be careful, been to South Africa, Fiji, and Vietnam so I know how to handle myself. Plus I'm Canadian, so everyone loves me by default.

We had severe storms here last night, from about midnight til 5 AM, with upwards of 80MPH winds, and our street flooded again. Light of day, neighbor's tree branches were ilttering the street, it looked like another neighbor's bushes were flattened, then driving to the store, saw at least two trees in a five block radius had been struck and split apart by lightning. Damn. What a night.

We had the smaller wedding, last year, but the reception hall kept the low prices locked in, for this year. I found the gift that we got for the ring bearer. (A box of hot wheels), but, he may have a Sonic the Hedgehog waiting for him, too.

I haven't heard of any injuries, but I know there were a lot of tree and powerline damage. I just read close to 3,000 people in the area were without power. =/

I’m bringing home a puppy tomorrow for a “trial foster” to adopt.
It’s been about a month and a half since I’ve lost my boy, and I really want the joy and love of a doggo back around my home. I’m so excited. <3

It’s 106 out, the power just went out, and the house is already turning into an oven.

Mostly settled into the new apartment in Ohio.
Had friends over today to help me set up some new furniture. Something that in MN, would have taken me multiple calls and a couple of days with no guarantee of someone showing up

Help me, I've fallen down a youtube rabbit hole and can't get out!
It started off on Wikipedia reading about serial killers, then I somehow found myself on a channel with 911 calls with background details and what happened after. If that's not bad enough, I've got another channel lined up for when I'm finished all about criminal psychology. I found this one from a recommended video going into detail about how a school shooter was trying to act crazy after his arrest to get an insanity deal and why he wasn't accurate.

Found out yesterday that my wife will be induced on Thursday of the upcoming week. I'm excited, but I am also terrified. I'm an only child and have never even held a baby, so I'm not sure what the hell I was thinking. My wife pretty much raised her little bother and sister, so I'm thankful that one of us will know what they're doing.
Board dads, any advice? How horrifying is my life about to become?

Oh here's the thread!
So, Sunday is grocery shopping day.
Saw on the shelf that Kraft now has KD Flavour Boost, packets of flavouring you can add in to your Kraft Dinner macaroni.
Jalapeno Ghost Pepper Buffalo Wing Poutine Butter Chicken
... and Cotton Candy.
I cannot imagine what the hell Cotton Candy Macaroni & Cheese would taste like, and I'm pretty sure I never want to know.

So, I saw a bicyclist get hit by a car today on my run. I had the green on a cross street and he got hit about 8 feet across from me. If the light was green for me to cross, means he shouldn’t have been going but I’m not sure if the car was on the lane to turn left or straight, either way..
Dude got hit hard, rolled on the hood, rolled off, picked up his bike and resumed about his business. I tried imploring the guy 3 or 4 times asking if he was ok or needed assistance etc..and he just kept shrugging it off “it’s cool”, “I’m fine”. Either way..the woman who hit him kept telling me to get his info and told me she was calling the cops/911. Just insane. Last thing I told him was to not be a hero and get himself checked out cause it was his body.
No joke, 3 minutes later as I resumed I almost got hit, so again, drive fricken safe everyone.

Huh, I just heard the phrase "shit happens" unedited on a basic cable channel during the daytime. Not that I'm complaining, it's just interesting.
There are technically no rules for cable stations in terms of censoring swears like there is with local tv, it's just that most sponsors don't like spending their commercial money on potty-mouth shows or movies. Although recently, networks have tried their luck with swearing, but mostly at night time. I guess an R rated movie on cable (it was during Bad Boys, btw) is the next experiment.
Also I know some networks do it more often, like Comedy Central and IFC.

Running errands earlier and these two guys were walking past the aisle I was in, one looked down it, locked eyes with me for a second then they continued on their way and I heard one of them say "You need three tickets to ride THIS ride". Said aloud, "I honestly wouldn't spend one" and probably confused the woman nearby big time. Oh well.
