Waiting for Ida to make it up to my area. Looks like it will be a Cat 2 or 1 ,or hopefully even lower,by the time it makes it up this way.

Found out yesterday that my wife will be induced on Thursday of the upcoming week. I'm excited, but I am also terrified. I'm an only child and have never even held a baby, so I'm not sure what the hell I was thinking. My wife pretty much raised her little bother and sister, so I'm thankful that one of us will know what they're doing. Board dads, any advice? How horrifying is my life about to become? When you get a moment to yourself, enjoy it. Nap. Read a book. It's not as difficult as you think. Get acquainted with other dads for advice. We all don't wanna look dumb like the dads on TV.

I went on a date with a girl last week. It went great but I’m a little nervous about what my parents will make of her if it ever got to that stage. My mam and dad have strong beliefs which are in conflict with her differences

My mam and dad have strong beliefs which are in conflict with her “status” Status? I was trying to think of a PC way to put it. She’s not white or Christian, and my family are very traditional.

I was trying to think of a PC way to put it. She’s not white or Christian, and my family are very traditional. I ran into a similar issue with some of my family. The lady I've been with for 14 years is half Vietnamese/Half white. Had an Uncle, who we no longer talk to,say something at a gathering. I went over asked him to step outside and them calmly let him know if he made a comment like that again I would quickly take care of it. Oddly this uncle, related to him by marriage, his wife is a mixture of Spanish,Korean and white. But then he is also a preacher who is extremely racist. Thankfully 3 years ago my father called his sister and let her know that he loves her and still wants to talk to her "But tell your husband to never call or talk to me ,my wife,or my son again." Just wish my mother would get over her issues with my gf. Yea so what I'm 11 years older than her. She is 35,gonna be 36 next month, and I turned 47 back in July. No one in her family has an issue with the age difference. But for some reason it bugs my mother. Never mind that my maternal grandparents were 15 years apart in age.

Maybe remind them they should love thy neighbor? Quite a few seem to not care about that unfortunately. Good luck with it all, Karl.

Maybe remind them they should love thy neighbor? That odds are that will do no good. Trust me. I'm surrounded by "Christians" that are racist as hell. The uncle I mentioned in an earlier post has had it pointed out to him that he can't be a Preacher and be uber racist. He will ignore and go on his way.

Some context....
back on August 19th I had to say goodbye to my cat of 20 years, Ruby. She was suffering from balance issues, early stages of renal failure and kidney troubles. She looked healthy at rest but she had trouble navigating from room to room. Her appetite was poor and when she did eat it wasn't staying down.
Fast-foward just over a week and I'm on my way to visit an acquaintance who needed to re-home a cat. I stopped at PetSmart and peeked in the adoption room, stopping almost dead in my tracks when I saw this kitten.
I filled out the paperwork immediately and called off going to the acquaintance's house. Three hours later, this little "Copycat" has her forever home.
Her name is Ditto ^_^

Some believes the most ridiculous things without a shred of evidence, but would not believe a truth even if it stuck its fingers in their eyes - Dean Koontz.

I love Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch "Good Vibrations". Like don't speak when it's on levels.

Ordered a funko off of Ebay and the seller shipped it in this big ass box, my mother asked if I bought a toaster when she saw it.

With Charlie Watts dying, I've tried to revisit the Rolling Stones. Try as I might, I just can't get into this band. If I had to pick one album to listen to all the way through by them, what would it be? Anything from 1968 to 1972 Beggars Banquet is short and not very loud, has several of my favourite hidden gems like 'No Expectations' Let it Bleed has 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' and some sweet jamming, plus opens with 'Gimme Shelter' which is the best Stones song that barely sounds like them until it kicks in Sticky Fingers is dark and cruel, the sound of a band peaking as their biggest rivals imploded Exile on Main Street if you have the patience for the full hour is the least worn out from overplay (no singles, baby!) and goes utterly nuts in genre hopping Failing that, put Forty Licks on shuffle or listen to the first volume of Hot Rocks.

You know those times that you come across an image that you saved a while back and really wish you could remember any details about it? {Spoiler} I'm pretty sure that's from the BBC News website.

I dunno, I just need to vent about something. I think my anxiety is getting worse. I'm 6 months in to a new job in a new city and I think the new-ness of both of those things (especially the new city part, first time moving from the place I grew up in) is f***ing with me as I'm having more bad days than decent ones. I have an appointment Thursday with my doctor, but I'm just like, a mess of thoughts. Worse, it's affecting my work and my supervisor seems to just not be talking to me. Blah.
