If her Hollywood people are smart, they would pitch Rousey against type. Have her work as a supporting character in a romantic comedy or an action comedy. Everybody keeps thinking her path was 'serious action movie star' because of her UFC persona, but that would have been a dead-end, regardless of her losses. Look at Batista. He did a bunch of serious, gritty DTV movies, but he wasn't over in Hollywood. He hams it up and plays against type, as perceived because of his pro wrestling bona fides, in the Marvel movies and now makes serious bank. In Hollywood, funny does in fact make money. Do the funny, Ronda, and you'll blow up. As someone unfortunate enough to have sat through the Entourage film like me would know, they tried showing the non-badass side of her in a few scenes and it...it was really terrible.

If she's going to keep fighting, she needs to fight a couple tomato cans before she goes up against any top 10 talent again Are there even more then 10 fighters in her division?

I guess I'm picturing her as Jennifer Aniston's awkward cousin or something. And some kind of hilarious mix-up/cringe moment at a wedding, like Rousey takes a big fall into a cake. But unless she puts the work in, like Batista did, to get acting lessons, as mentioned by another poster in this thread, then non-badass Rousey's not going to fly.

That poster would be me but yea I just can't see her actually wanting that at this moment. She really seems like she wants to just get away. She is still young enough to "start from the bottom" in regards to acting but she has to want it. Many people have found their second career in acting.

You just summed up Michelle Rodriguez's entire career. She played one movie where she acted like a girl that I remember but I am forgetting the name of it tho. It had killer dogs She acted a little girly in Blue Crush, too. Anyway, back to Rousey. I don't see her coming back from that. I am now more concerned about her mental state than ever before. I have said numerous times that losing happens. It's like that old saying, "You win some, you lose some, but you live to fight another day." I don't think Ronda Rousey really feels that way after getting knocked out in less than a minute. Hell, she even said that she wanted to kill herself after losing to Holly Holm. I don't see her wanting to fight again after that. To the person who mentioned Gina Carano, I looked up her records and noticed that she only has one loss in both her MMA record and kickboxing record. Not that having a low number of losses means much. So far, Rousey only has two losses. Miesha Tate has a higher number of losses than Rousey and she is still going. As for movie roles, Carano mainly plays supporting roles as the muscle of the bad guy's crew or something to that effect. The only lead roles that I have seen her in were for Haywire and In The Blood. It's been years since I have seen the former, but I thought that the latter was entertaining for a straight-to-video release. Rousey's drawing power has probably waned a lot by now. Also, Carano is a better actress than Rousey is. After having seen her in Expendables III and Furious 7, it is obvious that she has no acting chops. The good thing about Furious 7 is that she was only in it for a little bit.

I'm sure her handlers are already telling her it's time to move on. Or they're begging her to give them one more chance at a paycheck.

The good thing about Furious 7 is that she was only in it for a little bit. It is not strictly about losses tho. In Ginas case she got wrecked by Cyborg and never came back once she started acting. I do not believe it is because she was mentally but because this is what she wanted to do. Ronda is a different case. We know she has a fragile mindset. Essentially she either gets real cocky and full of herself like she was during her rising or she gets down in the dumps and have suicidal thoughts like what happened after it fell down. She does not have a middle and in a sport where you are going to take your lumps that s not a good way to be. She has a niche in Hollywood but only if she takes acting seriously. As I said before people make second careers out of acting. GSP does not seek acting but he has gotten small roles in big films like Captain America while Gina has kept her head in acting and is starting to peak after her performance in Deadpool.

I watched that on some 3 am shit a few years back so I never caught the title. I was surprised how "human" they made her and had her be all "girly". She did okay tho but Ronda still has to fight her to the tough girl roles now.

No one expects one of the male fighters to go undefeated their entire career. MMA is a sport that is so diverse that fighters will always have a loss no matte what. Boxing is a science but MMA is like football no matter how ggod you are somebody can and will beat you. Bingo. So she lost twice. Big deal. How many of us have failed at some point in our lives? Anyone who expected her to go undefeated throughout her entire career had grossly unrealistic expectations that I doubt they could ever live up themselves.

Anyone else get "Tyson after the Douglas loss" vibes from her? Considering everyone's talking about her going to the WWE, the company that replaced Tyson with Douglas for a SNME/Main Event appearance in 1990...............yes. I did the moment she lost that fight a year or so ago.

Ronda's problems were the attitude that she had on both losses Previous to the holly holm fight, she was a serious contender to be bigger than ali and some people were shuffling the idea that she could face mayweather. she believed all this bullshit and tried to win her match by boxing, against an accomplished boxer like holly holm. Then against nunes, she had an attitude like nothing really mattered, and went the fight went on it seemed like she never had been in a ring before. Isn't a men or women thing really, but I feel bad on how much the media and dana overblown her strength

It's not that she lost really, it's that she got DESTROYED in both fights. Like, she looked like a confused amateur. Miesha Tate lost a bunch of fights but remained popular because of her attitude until her recent retirement. Interest in Gina Carano was very high after her first loss but she chose movies over fighting. Holly Holm just lost her first 2 fights(in a row/same as RR) and now she's fighting for a title. Meanwhile you can put Ronda's next MMA fight on the same card as CM Punks...hard pass. If she did want to make the jump to WWE, I could see Dana letting it happen while keeping hold of her fight contract. Supporters will support her, others will say she can't hack real fighting so she's doing this, she'll get richer and I'd watch the whole thing.

She could play Jasper in a live action Steven Universe movie, she would be perfect.

Sometimes you're just off your game and blunder badly (Like Lex Luger when he gave that famous promo for CSWF).

When you are on the top and your whole vibe is that you destroy people, when you get destroyed yourself your own Luster takes a fall. Now that has happened twice you can not classify that as a mistake or aberration, it is facts. Add that on to she admitting herself that her mindset is fragile it does not look good.

Her whole drawing power to the casual audience was built on being 'baddest woman on the planet'. That's GONE. Your regular MMA fans would be interested in seeing her being built back up, fighting lower opponents and coming back. But your audience outside that fandom and the whole pop culture figure she becoming? Holm cracked it, Nunes demolished it.
I say that even as a fan. But the time for her even being able to main event is probably over. What's interesting will be to see if the woman are put on the top of the card at all, barring a weird confluence of events like happened at 200.

It would be crappy and a disservice to women but I can see them not getting main event on PPV anymore. Ronda legacy is set and that will be one thing she can hold on to
