Got it for Christmas; watching it now. The flaws are still there. "MARRRTHAAA!" is still silly. Etc.
But I gotta say, it is better. I do like this version, despite its flaws. It's quizzical why they chopped it up like they did, given that a lot of what the removed was necessary for transitional stuff, or to make some plot elements make any form of sense. I understand they probably didn't want to make it three hours long, but there are other places they could shave down instead of seemingly chopping things out willy nilly and having a muddled mess.
You'd certainly have gotten at least some better critical reception than you got.
And you definitely shouldn't have to have an 'Ultimate Edition' for a movie to be good.
But I do have to say, a flawed movie (in some ways on fundamental levels), but much more enjoyable.

I am a fan of both versions. But the Ultimate edition is better.

Well I'm now among you with this edition. So that's a red letter (let's call it letter S) day for all y'all.
Haha.

It's still flawed.
Okay, so it explained the wheelchair was lead-shielded so Superman couldn't see through it.
HOW THE HELL DID LEX LUTHOR KNOW SUPERMAN COULDN'T DO THAT?!?
It's not like he sat down on friggin' Good Morning America and meticulously explained his powers.
I'm sure I could make more complaints, but it's been too long since I've watched it. Granted, it WAS better because they actually explained the plot instead of just rushing to Batman and Superman fighting because reasons and MARTHAAAAAAAAA!, but they didn't explain enough.

It's better.
Better.
Still not good, and Synder is a lying sack of garbage pretending to pass as a "comic guy", but yeah Ultimate Edition is better than the theatrical cut.

Better is a relative term. If I offered a turd sandwich then a turd sandwich with some salt... it's better, but not by much.

Seeing the ultimate edition makes things marginally better, at best. It also makes me despise the theatrical version even more. Who the f*** chops out that many important parts of a movie before releasing it nationwide?
WB's handling of this whole thing has been an absolute joke.

I won a version of Batman vs Superman on digital in this sweepstakes and I have yet to watch it, I'm not even sure if it's the theatrical cut or the extended version. I'm hoping it's the extended because I saw the theatrical and didn't mind it, but I'd like to have all the gaps filled in on what I missed.

Even if Lex knew Superman couldn't see through lead, why wouldn't Superman grow suspicious that there's a wheelchair which is lead-shielded? Seems like a big coincidence that there's a room full of important people, Lex isn't there, and there just happens to be an object shielded by something he couldn't see through.

It's at least technically better than the theatrical cut. The editing for the theatrical release was horrendous, with jumps in the narrative that were downright jarring. I still don't like the story, but at least the Ultimate cut makes sense.

Bit the bullet and finally watched the movie, albeit the theatrical version.
Quite liked it to be honest. Batfleck was awesome and really liked the dynamic with Alfred. Loved Wonder Woman and how she interacted with Bruce Wayne.
I think if they just removed the grating Superman and Lois characters, it would have been a better film.
----
On a side note - Is this Superman impotent? Maybe just stupid? If he couldn't see through the lead lining maybe super-hearing could detect chemical changes and spark of the explosion? Couldn't he react at super speed to remove the threat from the room?
Instead, he just stands there, moping.

I'm glad I've only just seen the BvS Ultimate Edition, then. I guess? I didn't hate it but I didn't care much either.
Curious how much better the Suicide Squad extended cut will be. I thought the theatrical was choppy as hell all over, yet I still enjoyed it (something I can't say for BvS).
