The internet should've come to a standstill during that La La Land intro. That was golden.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson won an award for acting? The same Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is most notable for his tremendous impersonation of a cardboard standee in "Godzilla"? Damn, if that's the case, let's give the guy a "Most Improved Player" award while we're at it.

They Roman Reigns'ed the heck out of 2017 awards with that one.

I've poked my head in and out of the show every few minutes, and so far this is my synopsis of what I've seen:

The first film most people saw him for was Kick Ass in which he was great in. Every other film hes been so dull and boring you wonder if it's the same dude or not

Michael Shannon gave a much better performance in the same film ATJ was in but the Golden Globe are notorious for sucking up to the biggest star. I was actually surprised a few minutes ago they didn't give the score and song award to Pharrell and Justin Timberlake.

Is this a bit or is Goldie Hawn too drunk for TV?

Isn't it because it's the studios that nominates which actors they want nominated and not the judges of these awards? Like that's the only explanation of why Mark Wahlberg was the only acting nomination from The Departed.

Not sure what happened with The Departed a decade ago but I do recall Leo was nominated best actor for another movie that year, with the Oscars someone can only get an acting nom once in a category. Wahlberg probably beat out Damon and Nicholson for supporting actor because the other 2 were previous Oscar winners and Wahlberg had never been nominated before.

So in other words studios trying to market Aaron Tyler Johnson as an Oscar Nominated/Winning actor and have him cash in another big budget movie as the lead/villain/love interest like every other winner or contender that had major buzz. And Michael Shannon has already been nominated and already played Zod so it's his turn now.

Since I don't wanna do anything that could possibly toe the line on the rules, I'll just say that you're most likely correct in your assumption. ANd of course, I did the stupid thing and checked to see if I was right. Needless to say, I was right.

GG is an award body of about 80 entertainment reports while the other Awards are voted on by either performers or critics. It's very possible Aaron Taylor Johnson despite his GG win doesn't even get nominated at the Oscar since he wasn't nominated at SAG, which like the acting Oscars is voted for by other Actors. With GG since their is so few voters a person or studio basically can campaign person to person in a way you couldn't for other awards since their is like 2,000 Oscar voters and SAG voters are in the tens of thousands.

Kinda marking out for Isabelle Huppert. Film has been on my radar since summer when I had a chance to screen it. Saw three of her films she released this year. Kinda of a needed moment for her because of her overall body of work.
