In my experience, Mike is super passionate abour Chikara and wrestling in general. As soon as I fell out of the bubble, I think I became an after thought. Which I completely understand, he runs his own company and doesn't have time for much else, I certainly respect that. I really liked him and respected his passion/vision for what we do. I wish I could have gotten closer with him. Maybe one day, right? Haha
For anyone looking to get trained and break in, I would totally recommend them. They run free workshops all the time, go check them out!

Silence in the Library results
1) Oleg over Hermit Crab
2) Dez Peloton over Rumblebees. One of the Ice Creams dressed as a pizza delivery man distracted Bryce while the Rumblebees had the match won. "2 people came out in police glasses to create a crime scene."
3) Rory Gulak over Icarus
Intermission
4) Portal/Leary over Maine State Posse
5) Touchdown over Missile Assault Man
6) Sylver/Razer over Crummels/DeFarge
Encore)
Cajun Crawdad over El Hijo Del Ice Cream in Dodgeball. This somehow leads to Crawdad, Hermit Crab, Ophidian, Leary, and Rory against El Hijo and kids from the audience in Dodgeball. Then El Hijo Del Ice Cream over Cajun Crawdad in a quick match after hitting Crawdad in the face with the dodgeball

I was going to go to "Dark Water" tomorrow in Haverhill, Massachusetts. But the advanced ticket sale online has ended and "limited quantities remain available at the door". Worcester to Haverhill is a bit of a haul without the absolute guarantee that comes with buying a ticket in advance. Which is a bummer, because I had a blast at last year's "Cruise Control"/"Judgement Day" double header (in fact, you can see me in the post credits stinger of "Judgement Day" taking photos and video on my phone of Swamp Monster caught in a net. Because I felt that was important, even though there is a camera crew at the show!). But I have been kicking around the idea of going a bit of a tri-state road trip (New York City to try my hand at their stand up open mic scene, Red Bank, New Jersey to check out Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash, and Philadelphia to check out a Chikara show) in June to see the season 19 show "Go Eat Worms!" at The Wrestle Factory. How is The Wrestle Factory as a venue and how is the surrounding neighborhood? Is it relatively easy to park? Is it a safe neighborhood (my idea of independent wrestling in Philly is colored by so many people talking about what a shit hole of a neighborhood the ECW Arena was in)? Is it convenient to get to by public transit if I choose to get there that way?

I kinda like the Los Ice Creams bit. It'll get old fast if they never defend the titles, but it's logical.

The times I've seen Chikara live, it was Bakabella, McMassive, and Smashmaster that had a real handle on working the crowd, in terms of being heels but still making it an entertaining show. They'd walk to the ring and mumble insult-comedy to the people they passed, mocking their clothes and stuff like that.
They'd definitely be able to have real indie careers if they had a chance to devote themselves to it full time. I hope Smashmaster isn't really retiring; he was the best of the bunch..

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Silver Ant's twitter says he's done wrestling for CHIKARA....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Silver Ant's twitter says he's done wrestling for CHIKARA.... It looks like Max Smashmaster is gone too. Two more of my favorites gone. It feels like the biggest news coming out of CHIKARA is all the departures in recent years. I hope they announce an Easton return show before King of Trios. Maybe they’ll give the fans something to be excited about other than the typical wrestle factory shows.

Silver Ant was a given for being done considering the storyline, but Max and Bakabella just continues this years trend.
Yet more guys leaving, retiring, and not having a replacement or close to any part of a roster to care about anymore with storylines that are basically going nowhere fast.

Here I thought the cousin part was a joke haha. What originally brought him to my attention was that tumblr post from a few years back where that one dude buried everyone at the Wrestle Factory. He mentioned 4 students there who had "no potential of being a mature adult." 2 of the others were Drew Gulak (he specifically mentions the name Drew) and Silver Ant (whose real name I won't mention here). I still don't know who the 4th guy actually was. I am to assume that was "The Original Vokoder", he's wrestled at my locals. And he has buried Quack and the entire factory multiple times for how they screwed him over. Slade and Anthony were my two favorites to talk to and take care of me and my mother who couldn’t see very well. For sometime my brother trained at the wrestle factory so we’d wait on him to get finished with his responsibilities. I watch slade take down the entire ring by himself in 30 minutes. The original vokoder that wrestled young lions cup was a very successful Indy guy.

so it looks like we'll have Dasher/Juan for the title and Osirian Portal/Los Ice Creams with an obvious title change there. Plus a Cibernetico with who knows on each side?

I mean, if the Portal is dumb enough to cash in their points for a title shot now, I'm not sure a title change is a surefire thing here. If Ophidian is ready to go for it, still who is to say this 17 doesn't reappear again and cost him the title match?

If it's any consolation, it looks like just Max is leaving. Bakabella outright says he'll be back next year. Hopefully he'll hook up with Merlok, the big fish needs some guidance.

I dunno about Portal/Ice Creams. Isn't 17/Ophidian vs. Whisper/Ophidian more likely? Or even a Furies/Whisperphidian Cibernetico?

NRG defended the titles 4 times. The same amount as Dev Corp over almost exactly the same amount of time.
Dev Corp's reign was 295 days. NRG was 300.
