The one thing that I'm wondering is what they'll do for Aku's voice actor. They had said that they got someone that they feel is similar, but also stated that they know that nobody can truly replace Mako. |

My one concern about being on Toonami was that they'd try to go full Akame ga Kill! Besides, some blood is warranted. Shit, this is the worst timeline that Jack was trying to avoid. |

Enjoyable first episode and I found the Villain of the Week to be funny as they are still keeping the humor from the original. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
So, at some point Jack lost his sword which has lead him to become more cynical and has nearly given up.
Once he regains it he'll likely cut off his beard and go back to his original look. |

Was a very interesting first new episode, getting everyone used to the new status quo for this mini-series. One interesting touch that Gendy purposefully did in here was that rather than continue the numbering from the last episode of Season 4 (which was LII or 52, so the next WOULD have been LIII or 53), he just jumped it ahead by 50 to XCII, or 92. {Spoiler}That sequence with the Daughters of Aku was pretty intense...especially the start with seeing them being born.
Speaking of Aku, I know it's a different voice actor obviously, but the new voice seemed off from that brief snippet we heard over the phone. Maybe it's better when we actually see Aku on the show this time. |
