Congratulations to the writer of "The Last Exorcism Part II" on his big Oscar win.
But seriously, while I'll never see "La La Land" unless I'm paid to, Chazelle made "Whiplash", one of the half-dozen best movies of the 2010s, so he's alright in my book.

Now we get to the especially slogging part of the Oscars ceremony, when it's award, speech, commercial, award, speech, commercial, award, speech, commercial.
It's like those NFL games when a team scores a touchdown that has to be reviewed, so they go to commercial, then it comes back to confirm the touchdown and kick the extra point, then back to commercial, then returns for the kickoff, then back to commercial before returning for the next series.

Does Avatar really have a big enough fan base to have its own section at a Disney park? I don't know about sustained fans wanting a sequel, but it's the second highest grossing film in the box office in history. I'm sure there's plenty of fans willing to visit its theme park. |

I know people were rooting for Denzel Washington here, but from all indications, he's playing the same character in Fences that he played in Flight, Unstoppable, American Gangster, Man on Fire, John Q., Remember the Titans, and The Siege. I love Denzel just as much as the next guy, but range isn't something he really chooses to explore.
