So...Emma confirms she had her envelope the whole time. Two envelopes?!?! Yes, I guess one of the two people who guard the briefcases issued a statement. He said there are two sets, and they are police escorted on different routes to the auditorium. Like serious stuff. And Bubba Ray and Kazarian tweeted about the Dusty finish. Haha

They either printed and made two of the envelopes or Emma Stone is lying. There's 2 cases of envelopes: 1 for the presenters and 1 for backups. They somehow got a backup envelope.

Like Miss America, while this is a terrible mistake, it's probably for the best for the Oscars, which to me were quite subpar this year, to have a bang of an ending that just gets EVERYONE talking... That's what WWE likes to do

I think Warren thought like most of us, well shit it's the wrong envelope, but ahhh.... La La Land is probably going to win anyways. Sooo La La Land is your best picture winner!!

Here's what I've got to explain the mix-up of envelopes. In 2017 an accountant was told he could take one of the envelopes home, he went to get it signed when he tripped and lost the envelope. Fearing for his job, he promptly escaped from the Academy Awards to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still looked for by his employers, he survives as an accountant of fortune. If you have a financial problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire the O-Accountant.

I don't think we should have Warren Beaty back next year
- The Director of the Oscars

I don't think we should have Warren Beaty back next year - The Director of the Oscars Warren didn't announce anything. He even was confused. Dunaway probably thought he was being nice and letting her read the winner, so she just glanced down and saw the movie title. Who would have thought somebody backstage royally screwed up? This is on the envelope crew.

To me, Hacksaw Ridge should have won.
All some people may take away is that it was a Mel Gibson film, however if one movie really inspired meafter watching it, it was that one. Yeah, I was familiar with the story, but watching it play out probably puts it up there in the top 5 WWII movies for me, especially the theme of having a core set of morals that you're unwilling to break and are still able to act heroically in battle.
But youtubing that Best Picture f*** up was hilarious.

I saw La La Land get announced as Best Picture and I turned it back to a movie I was watching on my DVR. I then turned it back to ABC to see if the Oscars had ended and I saw the announcement of the mixup of envelopes. Most exciting and unpredictable thing I've seen at the Academy Awards in my lifetime.

Would have been funny if one the actresses from a film that was not nominated for best picture won.

You dun goofed, Beatty. And all of Hollywood.

All I know is, somewhere, John Travolta has the relief of a lifetime that people might stop bringing up the Idina f***up.
