We have done this in the wrestling sections a lot.
What about outside of wrestling?
When HD first happened I assumed it would make no difference. I was quite adamant.
However when I actually saw something in HD I realised I was completely wrong.
A reminder: NO POLITICS

I figured there was no way in hell Avatar would make it's budget back. Also I figured Chinese Democracy and Duke Nukem Forever would never come out... of course one could make arguments that none of these should have happened but that's not what we are talking about

Aliens: Colonial Marines is going to be awesome! How can you screw up wasting Aliens alongside your fellow Space Marines! Holy shit, they even got Micheal Biehn coming back as Hicks!!
Yeah.
Falcons got this game IN THE BAG!
Yeah.
We need food for this last minute party... lets see, we got about 20 people coming over... here, take $200 and go to Taco Bell. *only 8 people show up*
Wait no, that was awesome!

The Black Eyed Peas wouldn't get anywhere close to matching the success of Where Is The Love.

When I dismissed The Big Bang Theory as cheesy sitcom fodder (I now adore it).
The Ferrari F1 team taking on driver Felipe Massa in 2006 and me thinking that he'd be a bust (he won two races in his first year and almost won the title in 2008).
Thinking Daniel Craig would be a crap Bond.

Thinking Daniel Craig would be a crap Bond. I always thought Felipe would be a reliable number two (he had very similar qualities to Rubens) but he definitely surpassed expectations. I think a lot of people felt the same way about Craig TBH. It's funny to look back now but more people were wanting Clive Owen for the role.

Two big ones stand out for me. I said this about two huge stars when they first debuted:
"She's cute, and the song is catchy, but they'll have this one hit and we'll never see them again."
I was talking about Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
And of course, how many of us said, "Heath Ledger as The Joker?! Get the f*** outta here."

Even though he'd been their test driver for a year, I still thought he would be erratic and accident prone. However, he did the right thing and learned from Schumacher; there was no finer teacher, and it stood him in very good stead. More recently, I was wrong about Max Verstappen - a 17 year old racing driver? Really?!! He'll be dreadful! Of course, he's one of the most exciting drivers to come along in years and already has a win to his name. I'm glad I was wrong!

I was skeptical that Sandra Bullock could pull off her role in The Blind Side, mainly because she'd need to do the southern accent.
Then she won the Oscar for that role.

I thought Suicide Squad would be a fun, upbeat movie that made up for Dawn of Justice's failure.
Boy, was I wrong.

I thought Justin Timberlakes single-career would be a failure.
I thought the SW prequels were going to be as good as the OT.
I thought Superman Returns would be a huge success.
Thought Kobe might lose his last game.
Pre-2012, I didn't think the world would end but I assumed maybe big, huge events would occur, which didn't really pan out.
As a kid I thought Godzilla would be as big as Jurassic Park.

I thought there was no way that the new A Tribe Called Quest album would be any good and it's tremendous.

Schwarzenegger and Stallone in a movie together would make the screen implode with pure awesomeness and testosterone.
Rocky and Conan. Rambo and Terminator.
However, any such attempts have been from pretty mediocre (Escape Plan) to just OK (Expendables trilogy)
---
21 Jump Street movies would be horrible cash-ins

I never thought Ant-Man would be made. I swore that they'd eventually give up and just introduce him in an Avengers movie.

Can't think of one at the moment, so I'll put one up for possible inclusion.
No way Space X gets people around the moon next year when they can't realibly get off the launch pad now with tiny rockets.

I didnt think Slash would ever come back to Guns n' Roses, and I was happily wrong on that one, and surprising its going on its 2nd year together on tour with no issues or drama!
