Doesn't anyone else just get tired of just going to work all the time? I feel no matter what job I'm at the same thing always happens where I just get sick & tired of having to go in. I just don't know how I'm supposed to deal with it for most of my life when usually before being at a place for a full year I'm just already sick of it. It'll happen anywhere I go since any type of job I wish I could do is just not realistic enough to happen so I'm always going to be stuck doing jobs I'll never enjoy.

I have never had a job more than 3 years . I just never enjoyed my work and feel Im meant to do greater things . Last year I did get a good paying job , only a 5 min drive working within a great team , low stress work & a decent salary . About 4 months in the company went under .

Just think of it as money for time. Everyone gets sick of working in general but when the alternative is just be broke and useless to society than you are literally getting paid to grin and bear it. Think towards your weekends, days off, vacation days or just whatever you want to do when you get off.
Try to enjoy your work or at the very least who you work with.

It beats living in a cardboard box. But seriously, have you tried working through a temp agency/staffing company? I bounced around from job to job myself when I was young, started doing temp jobs to keep busy and try different things. I was given an opportunity at the company I work for now, things clicked and I ended up in a good position and I'm happy. If it doesn't work, you can get reassigned and try again.

Doesn't anyone else just get tired of just going to work all the time? Yes. But if I didn't, I know what will happen. 1) I won't be able to find a job that pays the amount I get paid now right away, which mean I'll have to take a job at lower pay, 2) my mother may lose her home because I wouldn't be able to help her financially (and none of my siblings can/will help), 2) my boss would be intercoursed because I'm currently the only person working at our location, and he barely knows how to run the tills, much less the store (although he thinks he knows, he always has to stop and ask me for help... even calls me while I'm at lunch for stupid stuff). I'm kind of lucky that I like the 'work' part of my job. I'm good at it, there's a lot of local customers who come to us specifically because of the service (and the quality of the service) we provide. Dealing with the boss/owner is a PITA at times but the work is good.

I work from home, but the nature of my job is a very first come, first serve thing which means I'm constantly having to drop everything I do at the half hour point every hour when the site updates and go on a mad scramble to do as much work as I can before the available work runs out, constantly arranging so I go to bed during down times and get up before peak hours.
Honestly even with there being plenty of downtime between each batch it's pretty maddening. It doesn't help there is a cap on how much work can be done for each pay period, but they don't tell us when the pay periods end until well after they do so I'm constantly doing extra work and then not being paid a dime for it just because I can't afford to fall behind schedule.

If you don't mind me asking what type of work is it? How would I go about getting a job like this since I looked into work from home jobs awhile back but didn't really see anything.

It's work writing coupons but I wouldn't know where to start on actually getting the job since I got it through my brother who got it from his girlfriend having a relative working for them.

Oh, just sounds like it would be good since you get to be at home while doing it even though from what you said it does seem like the hours are a bit random. Do you ever get any full days off at all?

The monotony is the worst part. I rather it be super busy at work than there be nothing to do, then I'm just standing around doing nothing.
I swear, time moves slower when at work.

I'm not a fan of my job or the supervisors I work with, one in particular who is SUPPOSED to be our HR rep but would put a knife in your back if it makes a random Joe Schmo customer happy...and this is a grocery store, not like some office building where we're talking "$500K business accounts". Hell, I went to him once about a customer calling me an expletive and he cast it off like it was nothing, and then later that night wrote me up for having the confrontation with the customer (which wasn't even that, I kept my composure when they used the expletive). When I told him he didn't even listen to my side, he flat out said "there is no 'your side' ".
It also sucks that people think who I am and how I compose myself at work is who I really am. I take my job DAMN seriously, and hate distractions or anything that puts more obstacles in my way (which probably contributes to my hate for the job...a customer that comes through my line and decides that's the time to take the factory tour of la-la-land and pay no attention to what's going on makes my blood boil). But I am a fun-loving, happy guy outside of work. I just know if I go into that mode on the clock my work will suffer. And I NEED the job. Car payments, insurance, college loans, etc.
And yeah, I am in the process of finding a new job, but I'm also not going to make a lateral move to cashier at another store. I know the story is gonna be the same; a small handful of co-workers I can't stand (I feel lucky that I have just the one I have issues with at my current store), customer after customer not paying attention to the point I feel like I should put "High proficiency at pulling heads out of asses" on my resume, handling money, high turnover of customers meaning I can't give them any real individual attention and be as helpful as I know I can, and so on.
So I'm trying to actually move up to an office job or something of that ilk. I once had a data entry job for 6 months and enjoyed the hell out of it and the people I worked with until they outsourced us all. My only issue was the pay, it was better than what I'm making at the store, but the job was so far off I had to get an apartment closer to it (that or drive an hour and a half round trip, and with gas prices at the time along with my crappy car at that time, that was asking for trouble) and I really wasn't making enough to be living in the apartment I had. So I'm looking for something closer to home where I can maybe build up a cushion for 6 months-1 year, and then move back out to a cheaper apartment and have some breathing room in case things go bad again.

If the conventional working week was four days on and three days off it would be a lot more tolerable. Working 5 days a week is one day too much in my opinion.

I have been lucky I guess. I worked one job for 10 years and loved it. For right at 3 years was doing 55 hour weeks.

I enjoy my job. I won't say the weekend finishes and I think "oh boy, work tomorrow!" but I can't say I'm unhappy or bored whilst there. I have had some jobs where I felt fed up and hated it but my current job which I've been doing for 4 years now I really enjoy.

I was unemployed for a few years... I found it worse than working honestly. I've been disabled / unemployed for a while now, and yeah it drives me more nuts than working did. When I'm working I tend to throw myself into it and it eases my mind. At least it's much better now ever since I got the prosthesis. Before that, being stuck in a wheelchair made it just horrible.
