He may have been more famous in more recent years for the various infamous accusations of some disgusting crimes. But he was a genuine pioneer in the history of music, specifically rock and roll. So for that reason, RIP.

Until you mentioned I had forgotten those.....things. But yeah he was a massive influence in early rock and roll and in the creation of what it sounded like.

Yeah, I figured I'd mention it because you when you talk about Chuck Berry the person, the accusations have to be considered. But when it comes to the music and nothing more, the man was f***ing spectacular.

Little Richard is in poor health and practically a recluse. Fats Domino has Alzheimer's. Even Jerry Lee Lewis is finally slowing down, I think he's only played twice this year counting the New Year's Eve show at his club in Memphis.
And now Chuck Berry is gone.
I know it's inevitable. But f*** me, it sucks.
It's going to make his upcoming album all the more interesting. It was announced back in October that his first new album, all original material, in almost 40 years would be released in 2017, simply titled Chuck.
In dedicating it to his wife of 68 years, he said, “My darlin’ I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!”
There will never be anyone else who can fill them.

"If you had to give rock n roll another name you might call it Chuck Berry" - John Lennon I can't think of anything new to say about the legend and genius of Chuck, hope he's duckwalking his way in heaven.

I remember hearing about the new album he has coming out this year a couple of months ago. Until then I honestly thought he had died a long time ago. I had to admire the guy for putting an album out at age 90. RIP.

I was referring to the cameras being installed in toilets, which although he settled the case, I don't think he was ever convicted of anything (other than the Police finding drugs at his house when they searched it).

Berry was convicted under the Mann Act in the 60s for transporting a minor (14) across state lines with the intention of having sex with her.

But as I said, I was referring to the toilet story which I don't think he was ever convicted of.

Also, he wasn't a valuable autograph because he signed an assload of them.
And this was the only thing I was ever exposed to him about.

Yeah, don't want to lionize him as a great man, but you can't discredit how important he was to the history of rock 'n' roll and popular music.
