I've seen this a lot over all social media the last 6 months or more. Is it just me that doesn't see it? Sure he might look like Ollie, but I don't know if he could bring Green Arrow comic charm and humour to the big screen. I don't even know why i'm annoyed as it's just a fancasting but i'm just a huge fan of the Green Arrow and if he's gonna be involved in the movie universe i'd want more than a guy who just really looks like him.

Completely agree. I feel whoever ends up as Ollie in the movies needs to be really charismatic and have a certain charm going for them.
That is not Hunnam.

The internet fixates on a fancast and then they won't shut up to the point where I want to see anyone else get the job just to disappoint them.
Like Ryan Potter as Tim Drake.

Fancasting always ends up being about the persons physical appearance. Hunnam can grow the goatee, so people think he'll work.

I guess watch undeclared if you don't think he has the charm for it. Dudes perfect but wasted in a secondary character like arrow.
Or more recently Frankie Go Boom

Or more recently Frankie Go Boom Eh I'd say a secondary character would be someone like Hourman or Red Tornado, Green Arrow has a pretty successful on going and a hit tv series. His stock has risen the last few years imo. On topic though, I don't think I'd wish the movie verse on anyone's career at this point.

I remember the campaign Ryan Gosling for Batman and the mega negative backlash when Ben Affleck was casted. I was campaigning Jon Hamm for Batman.

Josh Brolin who I worried is to gruff to play Batman was another guy I wanted just because he's one of my favorite actors. I would of never predicted him to be casted as Thano's but I guess he was gruff enough. *shrugs*

My fancast for Clock King being Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson on Agents of SHIELD).

Fancasting always ends up being about the persons physical appearance. Hunnam can grow the goatee, so people think he'll work. Exactly. It's completely uninspired, and also most of the time ridiculous. I've seen so many times when people on a message board were fancasting really mediocre TV actors as major franchise leading characters, just because they look like the illustrations. I'd way sooner go after good acting first. Chris Evans doesn't really look like Steve Rogers, but after seeing him play the part once, I bought in immediately. If I had to cast Ollie, I'd want someone a bit older like Affleck, and with a ton of charisma. Bradley Cooper would be my guy. He's charismatic, and he's a great actor both in comedy and drama.

I could see people fancasting Hunnam based on this cover. But I want to see salty, 60s lefty Green Arrow on the big screen, which means he needs to be old. What I'm saying is that I would cast Dick Van Dyke as Oliver Queen.

Reminds me of people trying to get Marvel to hire Ronda Rousey to play Carol Danvers... when the only way that she looked like the character is that she has muscles. Of course everyone tried to overlook the fact that Ronda can't act to save her damned life...

But that still would have been bizarrely entertaining.

What about Triple H as Thor? There's no way Trips would have been as good as Hemsworth. But that still would have been bizarrely entertaining. Now imagine him in an on-screen relationship with Natalie Portman. "Bizarrely entertaining" doesn't begin to describe the awkwardness of it all!
