The dating thread made me curious, what do you folk look for in a partner? Obviously, don't get into "THEY DO THIS TONGUE THING" or anything like that, but some of it might come down to physical traits, and whatever works for you, I guess. These can be things you've noticed in common with your past partners, ideal traits for a hypothetical one if you have not dated yet, whatever suits you.
I tend to like people with an artistic or imaginative side. That isn't to say they have to be an artist, writer, musician, etc, though that's fun. I just mean that I like someone who has a creative side and an appreciation for that kind of thing. They can be a reader and still fit that mold. for example.
Empathy is kind of a given, but yeah. If someone is just entirely apathetic to the feelings and lives of others, I do not think that would be a relationship that'd be terribly pleasant for me.
Lastly for now, I do not really drink or anything like that much. They do not have to be straight edge exactly, but if it's someone who likes to go out drinking pretty regularly, I can see that maybe being difficult because I really don't have any interest in that and with the level of addiction in my family tree, it's uncomfortable to be around that kind of thing on a regular basis.
I have a few more I might chime in with, but I figured I'd keep it light to start with.

A sense of humor one that goes to the dark side. Someone who can be independent and someone that motivates me to be a better person

Someone that is nice, and we can support each other. Sense of humor, and also, I don't mind hanging out at home, but I would like to go out on dates

She has to be smart. Looks are great, but if she doesn't have common sense, that concerns me.
She has to have a sense of humor. If you take everything seriously, nobody wants to hang out with you.
If she's independent, that's fine. I would prefer that. Clinginess tends to get annoying real fast.
I like going to the race track with my family, and if she doesn't want to go, that's fine as well. I would like her to come and watch every now and then, but if she wants to hang out with her friends, that's fine.
She has to like animals. Mainly cats and dogs.
If she has a hobby she enjoys, I like that as well.

Typically:
- Soulfulness - Thoughtfulness - Being Maternal - Upbeat Extroverts (because I'm quite the opposite) - typically artistic types - confidence goes a long, long way - I also don't look for it but usually end up with girls who have daddy issues.

I find myself more attracted to an extroverted woman's personality over introverted. There's just something to me about a nice talkative woman with a good personality. It probably has to do with the fact that I'm an introvert. I just think a relationship would be incredibly boring if it was me & another introverted person.

True. I fall into category 1 with people I don't know well. But if I've known someone awhile than I can be in the 2nd.

My girl approached me and we have a LOT in common-it reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he met a girl just like him and then realized he hated himself lol. Since we met, I'm not so down on myself anymore obviously

A guy who's comfortable with himself, confident, has his own stuff going on, likes watching films and travelling, respects me and thinks I'm hilarious. Not too much to ask for is it guys?

Thoughtfulness, independence, and ambition are pretty key for me. One of the biggest contributing factors with the failure of my last relationship was she wanted nothing more out of life than to take things at face value, sit home and pump out babies, preferably with me waiting on her hand and foot. That's fine, but it's not for me.
Also, they must be a non-smoker/vaper. Doesn't matter if they're perfect in every other way, that's a 100% deal breaker.
