If they do have someone else as Captain America personally I'd like to see them do the William Burnside story.
one of their later attempts at a Super soldier... someone that is basically completely unhinged and legally changes his name to "Steven Rogers" and of course due to being completely unhinged is basically a villain...

How does the rights-to-Spidey-characters work anyway? Sony's had them for, what, close to 20 years now? As long as they make X number of movies starring any character they retain the rights? Pretty much. The issue is Sony are getting to the point where they're losing money on their own Spider-Man movies (along with everything else they put out).

I think if Sony tries something like this, Disney Lawyers will start something that'll tie Spider-Man films in to development hell for the next twelfty years
