(Before I continue, I did get this thread idea cleared with a mod) Anyone want to guess what kind? ... An Apadravya. It hurt. Those of you that are familiar with piercing culture surely understand why. Those that are not, prepare to squirm a bit. The Apadravya is a vertical piercing from one end of the glans, through the urethra and out the other side. So I decided to drive to Ann Arbor to get this done. It was about an hour and a half drive. Finding a spot to park was a 45 minute journey through the streets of downtown. Walked into a shop called Pangea Piercings, and it's quite a hole in the wall type place. I arrived a bit over half an hour before my appointment, which allowed time for me to fill out a release form, get the jewelry picked out, settle measurements, and so forth. Josh, the gentleman doing the piercing, decided on an 8 gauge (3.2mm) barbell. I figured 10 gauge (2.5mm) at the largest. But, since this is my first piece like this, I imagine he knew best. A few more minutes to set up the piercing room, and I was called in to get this done with. Josh began talking me through the process, and what to do in terms of after care. I heard most of what he said in between my inner monologue of "You're about to get stabbed in the dick" over, and over. Finally, the big moment arrives when he has me laid back on the table, cleaned up, and marked. He tells me to take a deep breath and exhale. I do so. The pain of this piercing... The pain. It's probably one of the most painful you're going to get in that particular area. It went from "pinch" to "HOLY MOTHER OF GOD" almost instantaneously. Definitely up there on the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. I forgot a couple details, so I'll edit here. I had honestly thought I would scream or cry during this. Nope. I did lose control of my limbs though, and I'm pretty sure I accidentally slapped Josh in the ass during this momentary lapse of proper motor function. And as soon as the pain set in, the procedure was over. Josh allowed me as much time as I needed to regain my composure and work myself back up to a vertical base. I got back home not too long ago, not too much blood. Looking forward to taking this next week off work so I can lounge. I'm not sure if I want to keep this as a way to document my healing, or an AMA, but Mister Pigwell wanted to see this thread and get my experience, so here we go.

Mind if I ask why you chose to get that pierced?

Mind if I ask why you chose to get that pierced? A few reasons. For a while now, doing something like this was a way to feel like I had control over something in my life. I also happen to appreciate the aesthetics of it. When I made the decision to do this, I looked at it as a way to challenge myself. To see if I could transcend what mental barriers I had placed on myself.

You crazy bro.
Is this the kinda piercing that can heal itself should you decide you don't like it later?

You crazy bro. Is this the kinda piercing that can heal itself should you decide you don't like it later? It'll close. Maybe not perfectly, but it will close. That said, this is staying. I don't know yet if I'd be willing to go through the pain again if I wanted it a second time.

Would it be weird if I said I wanted to see just how bad the pain would be?

Kinda weird, yeah, but not weird weird. Piercing/body mods aren't my thing, but I can understand the appeal. Glad you got one that you like. I'd never heard of this particular piercing, but one question comes to mind: Will it show up on an airport screening? Genuine curiosity. I don't know what gauges are more likely to appear on scans, I imagine the size of them has something to do with it.
Also wishing you a speedy healing, I can't imagine it's going to be easy peeing with extra holes until it heals somewhat around the piercing.

I've heard of Prince Alberts showing up during screenings, but I did happen to ask this question and Josh put me at ease saying that it won't. Which works for me because I have to fly to Florida later this month. As far as healing, three to six months is normal. Could be up to a year depending on the person. Similar to a PA, though, I'll probably have to sit down at first if I have to pee. In the last 6 months ive done my lip twice my eyebrow and nipples. Im seriously considering heading south next but idk it scares me This was my second piercing after my helix. For me, the waiting for the actual procedure was worse than the piercing itself. Yeah, it is an immense amount of pain, but it doesn't last long. Right now, the sensations I'm feeling after having it done are mostly similar to when I had the helix. Just in a different location. Thank you.

Couple updates.
I woke up about half an hour ago, looked things over and no blood. I wasn't expecting that given the stories I've seen from people who've got the same work done. And if I had any issues while sleeping, they must not have been too bad.
Peeing absolutely sucks. Lucky for me, I haven't bled since my first time urinating, and that was a couple drops. That post-urination burn though...
The new piercing sensations are mostly gone. Either that, or I've gotten used to them.

Bless you for going through with that. Glad it sounds like it's healing ok so far. I don't know if it'll bring anything sensually or sensationally, but I hope you did it.

Like, year ago I had back surgery. Honestly, my back after the surgery didn't bother me, though part of it was the morphine for a few days. What did bother me was the catheter stuck in my part. Very unsettling feeling. And once in a while there was this burning sensation. The morphine didn't help. Then it was the removal. Very quick, but very burning. Anyways, good on ya on doing in. Like, I'm pretty damn squeamish about needles, so piercings are not my thing, but seems like you are, so good for you for doing it.

This is the first time I've had the urination issues in my life, so I didn't anticipate any of it. I've gone a few more times since yesterday and luckily it's getting easier since things are adapting. I'm bleeding more though as things relax down there.

Power to ya man. I've always been tempted to get my johnson pierced but too chickenshit to do it. Punching a hole through my nipple was bad enough.
I have a couple friends who have the same piercing you got and they say chicks say it feels awesome when you're toe curling so you have that to look forward to.

The first time I had a seizure, I went to the hospital, and they put a catheter in me. The nurse said it would be painless. The nurse was wrong. I can't imagine how that would feel for a guy!!
